Yes I do. I put it in a plastic newspaper bag, tie the ends, and discard it in my trash.

Absolutely YES! It is a moral responsibility, and it is often a legal responsibility. It doesn't matter where it happens, unless you live on a ranch, farm or some such. In fact, all levels of the The Canine Club's (UK) Good Citizen Dog Scheme (similar to the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen) require that the owner have a bag for picking up poop or they don't pass. If you won't pick up after your dog, you probably aren't responsible enough to care for one. . . - g^2

Yes when I last owned dogs I picked up after their mess when taking a walk. You can't just tell a dog to stop taking a dump on the sidewalk, other ppl's yards, and in public areas and expect them to understand. As an owner you have to take responsibility and clean up after them since they don't know any better and as courtesy to others. No one, yourself included, wants to step into another dogs mess on accident.

Show some courtesy, respect, and manners for your fellow citizens and clean up your dogs crap, before some unlucky fellow walks right into it and has to stand with the unsightly blob on his/her shoes, the horrific smell, and the embarassment.

I do, because it's called common courtesy, no fun stepping in *it! I even keep our yard & neighbors yard clean of those kind of messes, whether it's my dog or not. People who do not clean up after their dog, usually don't have very good manners or consideration towards others. Alot of places have made it a law to clean up after your dogs mess, which is a great idea. I don't know where you live, but you can mention it to the homeowners association or city council. Once a person gets a ticket for something like that, they rarely do it again. Good luck & watch where you walk!! (SJR)

I think you should otherwise it is rude. I mean would you want to be walking through the park with a wonderful person on a nice date and step in dog poop and smell the rest of the night? Come on think of other people here.

Yeah. it's what you do if you're a responsible dogs owner. Plus I tend to gather up other poo I see walking my dog since thats how to advoid "no dogs allowed signs". Worse I'm in charge of the "poo raffel" our club holds to encorage picking up -1 bag of poo = 1 raffel ticket..... hummm I still have a pair of cute socks, a DVD , a pin, a package of spa jell, and a bunny that leaves a trail of brown jelly beans (well might as well have sense of humor over this) and 3/4 roll of tickets- shall I visit your nieghborhood?

Even though i dont have a dog. If i did I would always pick it up. It seems whenever a dog poops and no one cleans it up im always the one who happens to step in it!!! :)

Always. Feces can carry parasites, cause communicable disease, and an unsightly smelly mess.

Having a dog entail caring for it and keeping the ground it uses clean.

I have a little rat terrier and she doesn't really go for walks so I don't have to worry about picking up poop outside my own yard.

My hubby walks our dogs, but legally we have to clean up after them. We keep our yard cleaned up also. Feces carry parasites and should be cleaned up. It carries a fine but that doesnt stop other dog owners from letting their pets go in other ppl's yard and they dont clean up after them

No, because they have a fenced back yard and a doggie door to go into the house whenever they want. I do have to watch out for the "landmines" when I mow, though.....
