what little I know of china can get you started. 1. find out what the w symbol i. it sounds like it is the manufacturer's mark. a book on markings from england or germany may have that listed. the pattern may be old or new (comparativly speaking, as antique refers to objects at least 100 years old, in most cases) but may be fdound in a book of patterns and when they were used. 2. it may take days or even months to find what you need. there are dealers who can tell you something but be aware that if they see the item, and know its value, they may offer you little or nothing to buy it. know the value before showing it to them.

I would try Ebay or some similar site first to see if I could find anything similar. If you have no luck there, your local reputable antique dealer may be able to help - bring the vase or pictures of it. Auction houses often have appraisers who (for a fee) will write up an appraisal for insurance purposes. If you do find that it's fairly valuable then I strongly recommend adding it to your insurance policy - always better to be safe than sorry.

I just looked it up on google and ebay, and I can't find anything about it. Are you sure that is what it says? I think that you are going to have to go by any marks on the china, and not by the name, as there is no documentation I can find.
