I think what we're seeing is the confluence of a population with NO laws and NO law enforcement and NO money with aa society where the law is much more prominent, incomes are a little higher, namely ours. This is happening in OUR country, and I think it's having a net negative effect on livability in america.
I know some of the pundits and statisticians disagree, but I think I'm entitled to my own opinion, and I don't believe that it's such a hot deal for americans.

If you're really socking it away, 6 figures and so forth, then life is good no matter what, 'cause you can afford to remove yourself from the problem. If you work a normal job, make under 30 grand a year, chances are you're more familiar with the immigration issue than you wanna be. That may be part of the problem here, that our decision-makers haven't had to be on the recieving end of that attitude...and that they don't listen to the people that live in the communities where it's all happening.

I don't deny that life in Mexico is likely no picnic. If I had no money, and I lived in Mexico, I'd probably be making a run for the border myself. That, in and of itself is not a crime, wanting to have a better life. But: the fallout in american communities is that there's so MANY making the exodus out of Mexico that it kind of says their country's dropped the ball. The numbers are staggering. And, Mexico's not alone in this regard, having so many of their population bolt and run away. If you read about Africa, Europe's up against the same damn thing that we are with Mexico and Central America.

I don't know what to do, I just know that it's kind of crazy, what's going on, and I don't think we're seeing good policy on the border, and more needs to be done to prevent people rushing the fence.
