They other day my and my dog went for a walk and my dog just stoped all of the sudden and was sniffing something . I looked and i just saw a house so i thought to myself whatever. When we were leaving that house i heard some barking i went back and saw about 5 puppies there. Later that day i asked my parents if anyone lived in that house and they said no. so i went back when i got there , there they were and when they saw me they ran under the house . Later on my cousins came and they are wild so i told them about the dogs , so we went and my cousins caught one and i was all crying . He was covered in fleas .I dont know what i should do with the other 4 , but i kept the one my cousin caught and he is so scared of me when i get close to him he starts crying . i think he is scared of people what should i do so he could get used to me? and what should i do with the 4 other dogs that are in the alley? I need some help NOW!

You need to call your local animal shelter, unless you can afford caring for five growing puppies. Your shelter should have people, like myself, that take some of the animals home, which relieves the shelter of part of it's burden, and socializes the animals. NOT the dog pound, the shelter.

As for your pup, even though he is afraid, you need to bathe him, and use puppy strength shampoo and flea/tick control, and take him for his vaccine. You risk making your dog sick if you don't.

After these things are tended to , you shouldn't have much trouble gaining your pups trust. The love to sleep on you, and share what you eat (be sure what you are sharing is puppy approved) and play games. When you play the puppy should always win, so if you get tired of pulling on the sock or throwing the ball, just be sure the pup gets to keep it.

When you see that your pup has adjusted to life with humans, you can take the toy when play time is over. Right now he needs confidence to deal with the strange new world you have introduced him to.

bless you for your kindness.

The puppies may not be weaned yet. You didn't say how old and developed you think they are. If you don't have a shelter to call for immediate help, then bring a large bowl of fresh water and a bowl of dry puppy chow to the entrance of the crawl space.

Go to www.petfinder.com and click on the shelters and rescues link for a listing of organizations in your state. You will find the contact information for them. Be persistent and keep trying until someone will come and help the puppies and the mom.

If the puppy you have can't eat the dry puppy chow, then he isn't old enough to be weaned. He will need commerical milk replacement formula warmed and fed every two to three hours around the clock. You can find this in any pet sotre or large discount store such as a Wal-Mart. Feed stores will also carry it.

Thanks for caring, and good luck!

I know the area you live in somewhat. And I know that there is no shelter or place to call that rescues animals anywhere near your location. You will have to call for county services. What you will need to do is call the county sheriff's office and let them know about the situation. They will get the county animal control people to come and help the pups.

Follow the good advice of others posted here if you decide to keep the pup you have caught.

Ok sweetie, you call your local chapter of the society of prevention of cruelty to animals. (SPCA) they should be in the phone book. Also they may be under "Animal shelters" . As for the puppy you have, he may be crying because he has been separated from his mom or his siblings. He will get used to you, just be very very kind, gentle and loving. The folks at the shelter will help you further. Good Luck. (Maybe the puppy should be called "Lucky". He's lucky you were there!)

You should call your local Animal Control office and report the abandoned puppies. They need to be taken care of. The Animal Control officer will have the equipment necessary to catch the puppies and see that they are taken care of. Typically if they're healthy they will be put up for adoption if not claimed.

As for the puppy you have, you should take it to the veterinarian as soon as possible.

Call the local aspca or humane society & tell them what you found. If the pups are dying, call the police & they will get animal control to get them & care for them. As for the 1 you kept, get it to a vet ASAP. It could have any number of parasites & diseases. I wouldn't let it around people or other pets w/out a full exam, shots, worming, etc. Good luck!

well i would keep the dog that is scared of u and just feed it and take care of it so that the love for it from u to the dog will let the dog know that u don't want to hurt her/him.and i would say that u should wash the other 4 dogs or feed them also and try to find the owner or just try to give it a nice home where they will get treated right

If you don't want the others call the local animal shelter and explain what happend. Being that they are still puppies they will probably get adopted really fast.

You can keep all the puppies so the one puppy can feel more better about being with you. Or you can just keep the one puppy and take care of it. With the other puppies you can bring them to a adoption agency for pets, give them away free, or give them to someone you know will take care of them very well.

Hope i helped!
