L-lysine from the vitamin section of pharmacy. Take several at once & keep taking. Usually works best at onset of cold sore. It really works.

Lysine. Take 2-3 every four hours for the first 2 days, then continue to take 1 every 4 hurs until the bottle is empty. It is an amino acid that is out of balance in your system, allowing to herpes virus to show it's ugly head.
