What have YOU DONE to help stop/curb illegal alien/immigration?

Question

We can all write our reps. We can all stop hiring illegals in small odd jobs ...and other jobs we may influence. We can all talk to others about this problem and help reverse the common, Americans' apathy/ignorance coefficient. Lots we can do folks. What have you done. Any ideas of other things we can do? Share what you know and what you are doing so others can know and stop this dastardly invasion of US America! There really are no wrong answeres. To NOT ANSWER is the only Wrong.

Sunfire: that word "Tried" to marry your boyfriend, stand out. Is the system working? Sounds like at least one illegal was held up in the illegality of it all.
Mona: if I'm not killed in the process of defending the USA, I may leave. To allow this immigration thang to persist or malinger, is DEATH for the USA and our way of life here. I feel that strongly.
Freedomnow: NO asperations for leadership. But I will stand shoulder to shoulder with all others to right this terrible wrong on our citizenry and country.

I exercise my constitutional rights of free speech, publicly making the criminal trespassers know that they are unwelcome wherever I happen to be, except while at work because then I represent the company. My wife and I have placed flyers at the doors and gates of companies that are known to hire criminal trespassers. We have held small rallies, which were well recieved by other Americans. I talk to people about this invasion, giving the people who I talk to information on the subject. I wave an American flag. We have placed notices on the doors of landlords who rent to criminal trespassers. This is what a small group of dedicated people have accomplished. There is a significant decrease in the number of criminal trespassers we see on a daily basis.
If the need arises, I am prepared to do whatever is needed to defend what is mine. And I show up here to ask and answer questions on this issue. Some dont like my views but that does not bother me, my message is what counts.
Leave MY country! Do it now! Get legal or get gone!

I already wrote my representative and my senators, I think if more and more people did that we'd have something...when they all get the idea that americans are tired of the whole show, of picking up the bill for stupid policies, there'll be more impetus to actively involve the public in the whole decisions process, which is what voting's all about in the first place. The reason so few people vote is due to the fact that our politicians have largely decided to exclude the voters from major decisions, the public didn't get to vote on NAFTA, for example, we've got these people that are making all these decisions on our behalf, and when they make bad ones they don't seem to feel they have to answer to the public about it, or even so much as explain themselves.
That's a breakdown in accountability. My feeling is, our representatives etc. ARE accountable to the public, and when they make bone-head decisions like telling the cops NOT to pick up illegal(keyword, there) aliens and send them home, they're basically forcing a breakdown in the law enforcement system.
If that's not corruption, I don't think I know what corruption is...

Short of applying for a position on the boarder patrol, there really isn't a lot any ONE person can do. But I think that there is strength in numbers. If enough people speak out against illegal immigration--not for just a month, but are willing to stick it out for the long haul--I think we can make a difference. Now, all we need is a leader.

There also is another side to this coin. All of us, except the Native Americans were "immigrants" at one time here in the United States.

Well, I write letters to the editorial page and to government officials. I get on Yahoo Answers and spar with pro-illegals that are spreading sugar-coated manure about "jobs Americans won't do"and wanting "a better life" when they're not painting those who challenge them with the "racist" brush.
I do my own yard work. I grow my own vegetables. We won't eat chicken from Perdue or Tyson.
Also, I do a lot of research so I can be better educated on the topic. The more I learn, the more I realize that big business is playing Joe Average American and Pedro Potential Citizen for suckers.

Why not make a list of people you know are illegal immigrants and hand the list over to INS, rally enough people so that you can get your voices heard to the government. We need to make our voices loud enough so they start listening to us, afterall that's why there's troops on the border, we just need to keep pressuring the government. Afterall it'll be hard to do anything when the American are pissed off and don't feel like being ignored anymore.

Also those who defend the illegals are just as much the problem as well. So you can leave the country as well if you don't respect the countries laws.

Tear down the boarder between the USA and Mexico and take over the country and made them another state added onto the U.S. .
This would cure the problem of illegal immigration and make the U.S.A. even bigger and stronger then it currently is. I think it would be a profitable idea. What do you think ?

I have stopped using a lawn service which employes illegal aliens. I questioned the farmer's market where I used to by my veggies, and found they are using illegal aliens to pick their produce. I am more aware of what is going on around me, but I am sure I am missing more than I am catching...but it's a start.

I've just bitched and considered learning, "Get out of my country" in Spanish. Or, "shut the ____ up", to say to the illegals in the convenience store buying their beer at 5pm when they start looking at patrons and then laughing and conversing in their language.

The cowards in congress are waiting until after the election to do anything. They know their plan will bring down the wrath of the American voters so they are waiting until they think they are safe. Watch what they do after the election.
