I would rather live in a free society where no religion is placed above another and no views of religious morality could be used to limit the freedoms of others and no belief can be used to dictate all the ideas while suppressing the science of truth.

I'm an atheist, but I don't "not want you (Christians) to have your freedoms", I just don't share your beliefs. I'm all for freedom of religion, but I don't see why nations must be found on Christian beliefs to have all the freedoms. You don't need to have Christianity to live in a democracy, so I really don't understand your question. Also, atheist just means that you believe that there is no deity, not that you oppose Christianity.

LOL! Hi there! I've noticed that you've answered a lot of my questions. Does the fact that I disagree with Christianity make me an atheist? Seems like you think I am in my Why are Christians so Arrogant question? Hmmmm......very assuming. Just asking questions like God wants us to.
But to answer your question, I think the problem here is that you really don't have freedom of religion in America. If we did, my questions on Yahoo Answers wouldn't get the kind of answers they do. If we did, Muslims wouldn't be harassed everywhere they go. If we did, Jews would be more accepted at my job. I'm cutting the crap and being real.......this isn't a free country.

O.K. lets clear some things up. Communism in it's purest form is direct democracy. Dictatorships are similar to Theocracies, which is something I can assure you no Atheist wants. Frankly I am more concerned right now with Fascism, which this country is landsliding towards. (We have the strength so everyone else will do what we say) I do not begrudge you your freedom to worship God, but I do so far as it infringes on my rights and the rights of my children. Don't pray in my school, I won't think in your church. Aside from that, you may want to go and review what different types of government are and what they mean, clearly you missed something.

What has that got to do with the price of tea in China? What kind of question is that?
Just because I am not a "devout Christian" does not meant that the only alternative is Dictatorship. Hello? Yeah, there are other religions out there.
And, for your information, TRUE Communism doesn't even exist, so get your words right. It's called Fascism and Socialism.

All liberal democracies wisely seperate religion from the state.
Most of them were founded in bloody revolutions against a christian aristocracy. In most of this revolutions churches were plundered and destroyed because there inhabitants assisted the "dictators"
The communist dictaorships like the soviet union, the peoples repuplic of china ,pol pot in cambodia etc. all abandoned their communist ideology in the search for power. If you want to see "real" communism in action look for the spanish revolution.
And yes, they`ve also burned some churches their ,but even more of them where turned into schools, for the catholic church was against education and freedom for the poor. Oh and the catholics assisted the rascist, fascistic Franco coup and the pope of that time even gave the vatican visa to nazi criminals after 1945 so they could take off to latin america.
Iosif Stail by the way was educated in a priests seminary. before he wanted to become the head of the soviet union he wanted to become a man of god. Coincidence ?
read history instead of the bible. Contains more proofable facts for sure.

do really christians have all the freedoms? remember that in a government, there is a governor to rule the people.but of course it is up to individual to choose a religion where they want to be, as long as they do what is right and knows humanity. and i dont like the fact that most so-called christians look down or critisize other group or religion. that is not the right doing of real Christians! they even chritisize the catholic, catholic also believe in Jesus! not all people in one religion has the same view of life. not all christians are able to abide by the rule of God for i know some christians who are really not fit to be! they do preach but not able to do what they are preaching! it is important to have a clear concience a pure heart rather than join the christian and not able to do the real teaching of a real christian! a am not a non-christian, i only dont like christians who brag and dictate.

forgive me, but i think you're slightly confused. atheists are fine with your beliefs; we just don't like christians who try to force their beliefs on us or try to work obscure religious traditions into the government or other places where we prefer religion to remain separated. we are not amoral creatures who like to repress or be repressed. dictatorships especially can attempt to force a set of beliefs upon their people, which is something we generally oppose (unlike freedom). also, as a complete side note, if you are an american, i would watch how your government is currently using propaganda and religion to control the masses, perhaps not a direct dictatorship, but there certainly seems to be some oligarchy controling you that you have no clue about.

I often wonder why Atheists will not move to a Country free of Religion such as a Dictatorship.
Madalyn Murray O'Hair actually considered defecting to Russia (and she was in fact a Communist).

I thought Christianity WAS a dictatorship. Does any one get to actually elect the Pope, or the head of any other Christian Church?
And again, just because we say what we say, that does not mean we want YOU to change. Or is it that deep in the bottom of your heart you think we are right, and you're stalked by your consciousness, but you blame us for that?
