Depending on your credit score, you still have a lot of choices. Countrywide is a good one, but there not the only ones. Shop around, theres Chase, HSBC, BOFA, Citi Mortgage, GreenPoint. Your still in the driving seat, the market is going down. Make sure you check out some of the smaller guys in your niegborhood, do not sign anything untill your happy with your rate and monthly payment. Ask questions at the local bank, and then walk out. You might want to check out the link I've provided.

Go to the mortgage forum and do some reading. Others have posted who they have been able to get mortgages with when they have had negatives on their reports.

While you are on that site, you might want to do some reading in the credit forum also. Learn how to clean up your credit.

It is a "free" site. Also, the owners of the site "do not" spam you for your business and do not allow anyone else to either.
