torbaynewfs I undersatnd that I had many other likable dogs. But as you see here I picked my choice. I learned that Aussies herd. I have cat's and I know that would not like that. Chihuahua's are to small and I realized I like big dogs better. Lab's I always liked. Norwich Terrier's I was finding a breeder fro my grandma for information. O and maybe I wanted to ask people how to stop attacking other dogs. So what? I like other dogs. Alot of people change there minds. So wut's up NOW!

I have had Dobermans for 17 years.
I have had Weimaraners for 9 years along with the dobes.
They are a great combination.
The only thing to remember is what ever sex dog your mom gets you get the opsite sex dog.
If you both get females they may fight really bad. Same with males.
Even if you fix both they still may fight bad.
Doberman males like to be the only male dog in the house and most times will not tolerate another male dog in their terriroty.
I have a male dobe and a female weim and they are the best of friends and they play well together.
Good luck

From your other question having to do with behavior issues with your Husky, I don't think training is your thing. All the breeds you mentioned wanting are very high energy breeds predisposed to having behavior issues in a home with the wrong environment. They are mostly hunting, or working breeds. I assume you want these based on looks, which is the wrong reason to get any of these. Maybe a Dobie is enough. Especially since there is still the Husky to think about. Put a little more though into it first. And get the Husky and it's behavior issue squared away first!!!!
If training WAS your thing, you would not be asking here what to do about the Husky attacking other dogs and pulling on leash. You would be solving the problem by training the dog. Even if you get an older dog, leash pulling is pretty basic to control. And you seem to be all over with the breeds you want. It has even been a Norwich Terrier!!!!!!! It just seems that you are looking for breeds based on looks and nothing else. That will spell trouble.
Don't forget your past interest in Labs, Chi's, and Aussies!!!!!! And any "small dogs"!!!!!!! You really DO NOT need another dog.

Of the dogs you named, I'd choose the Vizsla or the German Shorthaired Pointer. They are sweet and smart and easy to train. They are also most likely to get along with your Mom's Doberman.
I don't recommend Weimaraners to anyone - they are the most aggressive and unpredictable of the Sporting dogs. They (and Dobermans as well) are very prone to separation anxiety and I've seen them chew a house apart and jump through plate glass windows.
German Shepherds can be great dogs, but they tend to have a lot of hip problems and some are fear biters. Some, especially those with recent German bloodlines, may be overly aggressive.
Huskies can make great family pets, but they are not at all easy to train and they do an insane amount of shedding. Of all the dogs, Huskies are the closest to the wolf. For thousands of years they have been selectively bred to survive in the harshest of climates and to do only one thing for man - PULL. Once in a while, a more trainable husky came along and he would turn left or right on command, so he got to be the lead dog.

The Weimeraner or Vizsla would be the best breed to be a companion for the family with a Doberman. They are the easiest to get along with out of the breeds you prefer...they are less dog aggressive.
Be sure to see the litter, and choose the one that is friendly and is liked by the other puppies...
Don't pick the big bold, strut-his-stuff pup, or one that bites the others too hard...
Don't pick one that stays in the corner, and you have to coax out...

This really sounds like a whim. If your mom insists on getting a doerman, be a good owner to it, spend time with it, and it will become yours also. The thrill of having another dog(yours), would wear off really quickly, due to the work you guys would be putting into the upkeep of these dogs. Resist the temptation and treat yourself to something nice you've been wanting that doesn't need to be fed.
