Have you taken him to a vet? If not, it might be a good idea to do so. If he just suddenly turned lethargic and lazy, he could have Parvo.
Or.. he could just be growing out of the playful kitten phase. Either way, it's better safe than sorry... Take him to a vet.

Check with your vet to make sure there isn't anything wrong with him internally. Cats hide illness and injuries; they don't let you know when they're not feeling well so you have to look for any changes in behavior. The fact that you've recognized this dramatic change speaks volumes that you're keeping a close eye on your precious feline.
If he was neutered recently, it's possible that he's a little stressed and even depressed, which sometimes happens after major surgery. One of my parents' cats refused to eat and lost a lot of weight after he was declawed many years ago. He recovered and now he's fat and happy again.
The best route is, when in doubt, ask your vet. In the meantime, to tackle what might be boredom, since cats can get tired of routine playthings, buy some toys that will keep him occupied. The best ones are those that hang from door handles and have a little spring to them. My cat goes nuts over these. I switch them out and circulate them every few weeks so it's something "new" to her.
Hope the vet finds that all is well with your cat.

Well, he is probably a "teenager" cat now at 10 months of age. He is probably up all night stalking spiders, tearing up the furniture, and playing. Then during the day he is acting like an insolent teenager and ignoring you and sleeping the whole day through! Just for good measure - I'd take him to the vet. Cats are so curious that you never know for sure what he may have gotten in to.

You should take him to the vet. It sound like your cat is still a kitten, well maybe an older kitten but anyway he should still be playful and happy. Maybe you should try keeping him outside for some time? Cats love to be free, and if they're enclosed, living in a house all the time, they sometimes get depressed. I had the same problem with my cat. Now i let her out every day, and she has learned to come to my door and meow if she want's to get inside the house. She's ok now :)

Hi, your cat is probably just growing up. Just as a matter of record to one of the answers, cats don't get parvo they get distemper. If you've had him neutered then he's had his shots against most fatal diseases and you shouldn't have to worry. He may just be eating less because he has finished growing.
If he is not throwing up or having problems with diarhea he's probably fine. Keep an eye on him though and if he quits eating altogether take him to the vet.
PS Don't let him outside. Outside cats live an average of two years, compared to about twelve for an inside cat!!!

Here Is A List Of Things I Think That COULD Be Wrong With Him/Her.(1) Your cat could be lonley.(2) He/She could just be tired! (3) Could be jeloues? (4) Could be sick. (5) Cats do sleep alot!( I should know I have two cats). (6) Could be grumpy?
But overall you should take him/her to a vet to find out what is really wrong.
Hope he/she gets better.

he's either depressed and you should get another friend to keep it company (it does happen.) or you need to buy him catnip toys or strings and help him play. he also may want a different kind of food and may be fatigued because he doesn't have enough energy from not eating the food he doesn't like. another possibility is that he needs to have a vet visit because he has heartworms, or something similar. (my cat had the same problem!)

He needs to see a veterinarian. He may have any number of things that I won't go into. Make an appointment soon. I don't think it has to be today or tomorrow, but this week for sure.
Good luck!

I agree with other answers in taking him to the vet, also getting a full blood work up. Blood tests can tell you almost anything about your pet.
