Does anyone know what could have caused this? We are trying to keep her hydrated.. but don't know what else to do..

Not off hand, it could be many things like a tooth abscess or prolapsed eye with a gastric illness but the one thing I do know is you have a sick pup on your hands who needs to see a veterinarian ASAP!!

The swollen eye could be any number of things - as simple as allergies, to something more serious such as an eye infection or insect bite. The throwing up is a very serious matter as it has been going on for 24 hours and is not an isolated incident. You may be trying to keep her hydrated, but in my opinion a trip to the vet for IV fluids and a complete examination of the eye is extremely imprtant to do now. If remained unchecked, your dog could lose eyesight. If dehydrated, we are talking heart and kidney damage. Go to a vet or emergency clinic now.

If your dog has been throwing up for 24 hours, you should take her immediately to the vet! Has she been in a fight, hit by a car, etc? Maybe an allergic reaction? Really should go to the vet right away. Or at least call one. Hurry! Could have been bitten by something very venomous.

Take your dog to the vet...ASAP. My Akita was vomiting for 24 hours, shortly after eating. Turns out there was an intestinal blockage and his bowel had already shut down. He was immediately xrayed and the problem was found. He was operated on and he will recover. It was a good thing, I did not wait longer.

Well, if he has been throwing up for 24 hours then you should seriously take him to the vet!

Call the vet. Their phone will be forwarded to the 24 hour emergency vet line, and they will tell you what to do.

Since she has been throwing up for 24hrs she needs to be seen by a veterinarian right away. Don't waste anymore time. Hope she's alright.

THAT SOUNDS BAD, YOU NEED TO TAKE HER TO A VET-KINDA SOUNDS LIKE SHE WAS HIT IN THE HEAD, WITH HER EYE SWOLLEN AND THROWING UP. THROWING UP CAN BE A SIGN OF HEAD INJURY.

You really need to call your after hours emergency vet clinic(located) in your phone book. They can tell you what to do.

If you can't afford vet, call Humane Society - they might tell you what to do on phone, or tell you to come in. Hope your dog gets better.
