In order for it to be a robbery, you must threaten someone with harm. If you simply pocket a pen it would be a theft. Now if you pointed a gun at a teller and demanded they give you a pen, that's robbery. At least that was the definition I was directed to work with when I was on a jury...

BTW, as I understand it, there are no degrees of robbery. IE, take a penny or a billion dollars, if a threat is made it is robbery. Theft has degrees depending on the value of the stolen property.

No, everyone does it, banks now have solid steel cables attached to solid steel pens.

Yes, but it is difficult because most pens from banks have a little chain or string attached to its end so you must take a knife or a pair of scissors to cut it.

no.stealing a pen from the bank is not bank robbery but, it is wrong to steal.It don't belong to you,don't take it.it is called stealing.it's in the ten comments,shall not steal.
