My favorite bible verse is Suffer not a witch to live. But then perhaps that is because I am a Wiccan. Its a pretty odd verse in a book that is supposed to be all about love and teaching its followers what is right from wrong. And yet it calls for them to kill a certain group of people. Nice huh?

As a child, my favorite verse was I Cor 3:9, saying "for you are laborers together with God, you are His field and His building." Fun, huh? Yes, He called me into missions work when I was old enough to go. As I was studying at Bible college, however, my favorite verse quickly became (and remains to this day) Psalm 94:19, which says "When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought joy to my soul." Another one that runs a close second is Zeph 3:17, which I can't quote exactly but says that God will rejoice over us with singing and quiet us with His love.

I agree with first -- "Jesus wept" Though it is the shortest verse in the bible it probably makes the most powerful statement ever. Just thinking about the act of crying. It's not an act of weakness but strength.

I've heard pastors and ministers exclaim great excitement over this verse while providing an exposition.

Numbers 13:30

30. Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, "Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.''

Because if we will just get our eyes off of our own abilities or lack of and follow God's leading - we are well able to overcome any and every obstacle.

Also I love

Ephesians 3:20 (But the whole chapter is great!)

20. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

Psalms 83:18 - That people may know that you whose name is Jehovah. You alone are MOST HIGH over all the Earth.

Most bible versions have taken the Jehovah out and replaced with LORD, GOD, etc.

The origianal tetragrammaton YHWH is translated into the English for Jehovah - God's name. I feel privileged to know it.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and power full, sharper than any two edged sword cutting even to the division of bone and morrow and soul and spirit.

Jeremiah 29 v11-13
"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek with all your heart."

bcos it tells me that when things are tough and don't seem to be working out that He is still looking out for me and will come running when I so much as turn my face to Him. Also there's some really cool stuff in Isaiah e.g. Isaiah 44v2.

i too also love "Jesus wept" and "he stinketh" - mary talking of lazarus as he's been in the tomb 3days. you only get it tho if u use the KJV
