of course not. as a u.s. soldier, i never fought anybody over MY religion.
we find so many other things to argue over...oil, women, gold, women, farmland, women, water rights...and lest we forget, women.

No. Quite the opposite would happen. It would stifle freedom of thought and creative expression and cause worldwide divisions between all groups.
The only benefit I can see coming from this would be the person or party responsible for banning all religions will actually do more to unite all the banned religions in a common goal to find and kill whoever is responsible for putting the idea into practice. Oh, how ironic that would be. ;)

Banning all religions would not stop wars, but it would be a good start, just as 100 lawyers at the bottom of the sea is a good start.
Banning all religion would in the long run be the most beneficial and just law ever passed on earth. Inforcing this law would be a different story as in effect this would be the same as reverse elvolution of religion. All religions got their start when soemone decided they would like to be master over another at that persons expence. All religions were installed as a result of the sword not the pen or god as history tells us. For the last 2000 years you were the result of your environment. In other worlds you were what your parents and neighbors were. if you were born in saudia you were most likely muslim and did not beleive in christ as a god or gods son and beleived everyone not muslim should be killed. If you were born in india you most likely would be hindu or buddist in china and sure that all others d not of your religion was hell bound. so religion is environment and if people could be forced to remove religion they would be glad to be out of it in two generations alone.

No. Banning all religions would force warmongers to look for another pretext to fight for. Religions are very useful in that they make some people think they're worth a war. But religions are not the only think people can become fanatics about. There's ideologies, there's even sports, if you know how to handle it.

Banning religion will not stop the human fighting each other for domination of weak people. This what is our human nature which you can change with following the religion of your choice closely.

Maybe, for a short time! They'd all be angry at the ban. Then they would sneak around underground and hatch plots against the 'powers that be'. They throw a few sheep out to be killed and then one big fish would let himself be caught in a great Miss-deed and die in the process. Now, there's a martyr to rally round!
Nothing better than a dead martyr to get the ole religious juices boiling.
More and more people would join the church, and the more power the group got, the more fractious members become. Eventually one group splinters off and forms it's own church.
Well, you see how it goes, history would repeat itself and we'd still have feuding, fussing and fighting. As we have through the ages!
Can't ban them, but sure can fight to keep them out of our Government.

No because if you take one thing away that people fight about they'll just find something else to fight about. I would get mad if people tried to ban my religion plus I don't think you can ever stop people from praying and other rituals like that no matter how hard you try.

If you're so afraid of conflict, why not lock your doors, draw your shades, and sit in the middle of your house the rest of your life so that you'll never have to deal with it? For another thing, how can we BAN religions? Police can't even successfully catch all the people who are breaking the laws that we already have and you want to complicate that by adding more?

Absolutely not. Religion is what we make of it - and we'd move towards philosophy and turn that into a religion, and so on, until the bannings become so ridiculous that we end up with a country being formed to allow for religious freedom. ;)

No. People won't give up beliefs just because they are told they can't practice religion. Governments have tried to ban religion, and it keeps on living.

All religions? Even secular humanism and atheism?
(Yes, the Supreme Court ruled that they are religions as well.)
"Among the religions in this country which do not teach what would generally be considered a belief in the existence of God are Buddhism, Taoism, Ethical Culture, Secular Humanism, and others."
