they have a new baby and when we try to say something helpful or anything else she kind of has an attitude back and it hurts our feelings and she seems to not care.

Well, it's her baby and she probably feels you all are criticizing her. Even though you mean to be helpful(hopefully), not all new mothers take it that way. Back off. Remember what it was like when you had a baby(if you've had one). You guys are hurting her feelings by (to how she sees it) constantly criticizing what she's doing. Just stand back and if she has questions, then you can answer them, otherwise leave your advice to yourselves. Good luck.

There's no excuse for being rude. Family's family. A more tactful way of going about it would be to sincerely thank you guys for advice. If she wants your advice she'll take it. If she doesn't she won't. At least you'll all know that she is appreciative for the advice. Try talking to her and see what the root of her problem is.

So leave her alone for crissakes! She has a mother to help her and doesn't need any of your nitpicking. If you have a problem or a suggestion, I suggest you tell your BROTHER and leave his wife alone. Why should she care about your feelings when you, so obviously, don't care about hers. Her attitude is justifiable, you are questioning everything she feels is right.

she might feel like everybody keeps telling her everything she's doing is wrong. that can be upsetting to her. take her aside and speak to her. let her know that you think she's doing a fine job as a parent but tell her if she ever needs any helpl or advice she can ask you and you'll give it to her. in the meantime stop giving her advice. let her learn how to do this on her own. she'll appreciate it.

She's obviously very troubled about her abilities to be a moher. Don't say anything to her unless you see her not taking care of the child. If that happens, turn her in to the authorities.

This is tough..your brother will be be the victim if you push too much..Approach it this way..say you would like to help because of your experience and you understand that she wants to do things herself but that you would be happy to help if she needs help. I am wondering if she feels like she needs to prove something?..and what kind of relationship did you have with her before they married and has she always been this way?
