I met this girl in person in Chicago and she had to leave to S. Carolina and I had to go back to California. Pretty brief introduction. We exchanged info and what not. Is it better to call the next day or just email and make sure she made it safely?

Call-it is more personal, and appropriate for this kind of exchange. It is also easier to deal with. If she doesn't want to talk, she'll let the machine get it anyway.
