It seems to happen to me quite regularly.

It appears there is a qualitative difference between the a coincidence and a syncronicity.

For example, last night I was studying heavily the benefits of drinking a lot of water, this morning I walked into an art gallery and the two ladies beside me were going on about "the benefits of drinking a lot of water"...almost like they were reciting exactly what I read.

This happens quite regularly on obscure topics..but it could be a coincidence.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Sure, but I would attribute the concept of "synchronicity" to the fact that the idea was previously and recently on your mind, which facilitated both your perception of the topic spoken of the two ladies and the association/connection to what you had previously learned about the subject.

Example: Let's say that you had never studied the subject of psychology before, and you didn't have any knowledge of its concepts or theories before you took a psychology class one day. The day before you took that psychology class, obviously people talked and were talking about psychology and its concepts (on the T.V., Internet, and everyday speech), but that talk then "went over your head" which also makes it harder or even impossible to recollect what was said. But now, after your first psychology class, your vocabulary is larger and you are more enlightened, which enable you to perceive better, recollect better, and enabled you to make a rational association to what you learned in that class and what people speak about sometimes.

In conclusion, I would think what you are asking is more related to coincidence than synchronicity (or proof that it exists), but I don't think it is pure coincidence, for there is a reason for it, which I think is related to the "stepping process" of learning.

P.S. - Other incidences that some attribute to "synchronicity" such as one person "thinking" of a long lost friend one day and the next day that long lost friend telephones "out-of-the-blue" may be related to what I said above, but it may actually be something related to the notion of sychronicity.

P.S.S. - Dejavue is the real trip for me.

Yes, it has become a regular pattern in my life. When it first began to happen I did lots of research, mainly just talking to others and books "I just happened" to stumble upon. Check out the book Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, they just made a movie but read the book first. Theres a lot of us experincing these types of incidences, enjoy the ride and keep an open mind!

It is interesting and i think we all experienced it.

But i think occam's razor should be applied here!

I think Jung hit something interesting on the topic of Synchronicity but i think we do not have the complete knowledge yet to find out why and when it happens. He coined the term collective unconscious but i think this is much and much to simple to investigate and find out why it happens (if it happens)

I think we need a sort of Einstein to explain why it happens. I think it has something todo with time and the explanation of what time actually is.

About a month ago, I emailed my former classmate in college (He's in our country, I'm outside working) asking him if he happened to have any news about our lady-friend who we haven't seen for a while. I also mentioned I was re-collecting songs of Cat Stevens since I lost my compilation way back.

He answered me back saying he went out to dinner with our friend who came for a seminar in his city just days ago and he got her email address. Also, and this is amazing, he was reading an article in the internet about Cat Stevens when my email arrived! Coincidence? Syncronicity?

You know, the world really isn't that complicated. There really isn't that much to talk about, and were all plugged into the same media outlets (that are all plugged into each other). Then again, maybe you are god dreaming and the rest of us are just characters borne of your sub-concious mind, trying desperately to wake you from your slumber by giving you clues that all is one.

I believe there are no coincidences. And synchronicity is
something that happens at the exact same time.

Stuff like that happens to me regularly, too. Throws you for a loop, doesn't it?
