That's kind of a slippery question, as it focuses on a few characters as principals, if memory serves.

The main character/narrator is named Walker Dupree, he's a high school senior (about 17). I don't recall much about his family, as each of the four main figures is faced with a crisis. Dupree's happens to focus on choosing between two girls.
