I understand your question. Let me just say that because of the religion I am (mormon) I'm critisized and told that I'm not Christian, that my beliefs are wrong and that I need to repent and be saved to go to heaven. In my religion, I was "saved". It might not be the same way as others think of, but it's what I believe. I'm always told that because of my beliefs, I will burn in Hell.

I believe that we are judged for the people we are, not by what religion we are. I don't think that just because you are gay or straight, that automaticaly condemns you to hell or heaven.

You can be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, LDS, Buddist- doesn't matter.. it's whether you live your religion that counts. And if you don't have a religion, then if you live by what you believe- you're own personal truths.

I think everyone has a right to believe what they will. I don't try to push my beliefs onto others.. I just wish that people would look into things before they bash mine. Just because something may be different, doesn't nessecarily mean it's wrong...

*sigh* Not all Christians are like this you know. I have friends who are gay, and I have no problem with their sexual orientation. If someone is part of a different religion, or has none at all, that's their business, I'm not going to try and "convert" them. It's their life, they can do what they want. Now as for the damned part, that's not true. There is a Church document called the Lumen Gentium (a type of Dogmatic Constitution) that states that salvation can happen outside the Church to anyone of any belief system, including Atheists. Look it up if you don't believe me. Or better yet, email me at illuminata91@yahoo.com and I'll send you the information.

I'm a Christian and in a way I take offense to that. I'm not hateful towards things that I don't understand. Take gay's for example, this is what I understand. When God created man he gave him one wife not one husband. And if your religion does not believe that the only way to secure your salvation from eternal hell and suffering is in the Blood of Christ Jesus or that once you have been saved you can't lose your salvation than I don't hate the gay or religion I just don't support it. I have gay friends and non-Christian friends. And you should never take just a persons word for it. If you realy want to know you should pick up a Bible and start reading.

I am not hateful. I don't care who other people worship. That's up to them and how they feel. As far as being gay I would be the last person to say anyone is going to hell for it. Fact is I just don't think it should be taught to kids that it is OK. Like its natural behavior or something. I don't agree with it that's all. I will not except it as the norm. People will do what they will do. If you believe in God you might want to look at what the bible says on it. If you don't believe then how does it matter anyways? Why are people always trying to convince society in general to accept certain behavior. I reserve the right to choose who I will like and dislike regardless of sex, race,or orientation.(FYI I have had Friends that were gay but they weren't in your face saying that I had to accept them for it) they never made a pass at me either. It was just known that they were gay by me.Never even discussed it between us.
(ps: sorry for the long winded response)

Easy question..."true believers" of every Religion including the Christians are RIGHT about how they believe and what they believe. They simply can't see past the idea that others views may/might be right. They will enforce that belief upon you weather you want it or not because it's the "RIGHT" view. Suggest you check out www.uua.org...It's really not about being right or lacking faith...consensus can be reached and the faith is just misplaced. PEACE!

if someone is being closed minded and hateful please don't blame an entire group of people not everyone in any given group are the same. how about saying it like it is and say why are some people so hateful toward things that are unusual to them. Because I have a newsbreak for you there are all walks of life that are against gay lifestyles.

well, for one if you are a christian your not supposed to judge anyone, bu then again your not supposed to be around someone that is doing wrong and keeps doing wrong in the eyes of god, but then again your supposed to help those in need and try to show them the right way, as for being gay well in all bibles it says that god will not accept you if you are a man lying down with a man and so goes for women.

It depends with type of people you meet on your way. Some people says that they believe in a religion, but they don't understand the meaning,

Why are you using a sweeping generalization for all Christians. The Bible doesnt say to be hateful towards anyone

Real Christians follow the teachings of the bible. Being gay is not acceptable. You don't have to believe anything. GOD gave us free will. You can choose to follow JESUS or not. The consequences of your life are yours to deal with.
