Join groups...become accountable to people other than yourself. They will depend upon you showing up for a run or bike or swim or whatever....and vice versa. Plus, the competition can be fun too!

I know what you mean! The best thing that that I've found is, don't think of it as excercise -replace the kind of lazy things that we all do with a different option.. If you normally use the lift, take the stairs instead. If you can walk, don't drive. Others on here also have good suggestions, ie: have a friend help you along, and music is great, too. You can do lots of stuff while watching your favourite tv programs, as well... stretching, jogging, the step, sit-ups, jumping rope etc. It really takes a change in mind-set, but it CAN be done! Good luck!

play high energy music in your discman, (this will keep you pumped), put up some excercise pictures on your walls. read fitness magazines, hang out with fit people, and share tips, eat healthy food, develope excercise habits, try and keep a routine (keep it simple and don't push yourself to hard for the first month)
stay focused, do not be mislead by others who may be jealous...and reward yourself weekly with a massage, hot bath, fruit shake, or a nice pasta supper...all the best!

Trying finding something that you like to do (i.e. basketball, football, bike riding, etc.) Thankfully there are so many different types of exercise or things you can do that don't even feel like exercise. I for one hate to exercise and have always been quicker to find a reason not to do it than to find a reason to do it. One of my personal favorites that I've been able to stick to is Yoga, it's really good for stretching and feeling like your not even exercising cause it's all about holding the various poses, plus it helps with stress. I also bike ride quite a bit (mainly cause I hate walking, and with bike riding your still exercising, but you're able to sit down and do it, yeah!). Hope this helps. : )

Take a friend along, and do something you like. If you hate biking, then don't bike. If you like jump roping, do that. Vary your exercises. Rope jump one day, then run the next, then swim the next. Variation is the spice of life.

Variety is the key! One day do Tae-Bo, another day do Yoga, the next day go Jogging in your area, next day go the gym. Just mix it up some and try something new like Kick Boxing :D
