I am a Christian as well and I don't understand either. I don't see how our choice to believe affects anothers choice to not believe. Insults are a petty way to handle our differences. I tell my sons that people often result to foul language when they lack the vocabulary or mental ability to speak more politely. Still I wonder how our right to belief is any less valid than their right. As for us persecuting them, I haven't and I don't see one doing it today. We need to grow up and live in the present. The past is past.

It's true that some Atheists are hard on Christians, but by the same token, some of you Christians accuse Atheists of untrue things too- like some recent questions here on answers such as; "why do Atheists blame God for bad things happening" and "why do Atheists spend their time trying to prove there is no God" both of these statements are untrue AND don't make sense either. Let's face it- Christians and Atheists just don't agree and we all really should just let it go- and accept each other's differences.

maybe some can't believe : a woman coming out of a man's rib, a talking serpent, people turning into salt, a man rising from the dead, etc. that many Christians believe as fact.
It's okay for them to BELIEVE this as their own truth, but they also try to pin it on others as FACT. These are not facts. Christians persecute non-chrisitians for not believing what they do. This was the main reason we left England and started America, to get away from religious persecution!

For me, I believe in God, but he doesn't want my money to go to the rich money making religious organisations. Instead he said think about me and look after your family. I do not need an expensive church to pray or a Vatican to have my shrine. People who believe God needs their money have been deluded and believe what the church tells them and not God

Why do you care? If you believe in your religion, does it really matter if others don't agree with you? Be comfortable with who you are, and let others be comfortable with who they are. You'll make the world a better place just doing that.

Because you are not open minded and free thinking. You believe a single book which has magical events and rediculous depictions of the beginnings of life.

Because the Christians (at least the bible thumpers) are a lot harder on others who do not believe as they do. They are always in your face and spout their hatred for everyone else.

Because you are.
Christianity is based on lies and is supported by lies.
Anyone who thinks it is "true" is obviously deluded.
