Dear (name here),
First of all, congratulations on the upcoming wedding, I know you'll make a beautiful bride. Second, thanks for asking me to be in the wedding- I'd love to! Let me know if you need any help, I'm right here.
Wishing you a happy life together...

I would say if you really were thankful for being in her wedding you should write her a thank you note saying just that. If you really didn't want to be in her wedding just write her a polite thnk you note saying that you were flattered.

In general a thank you note is not required for being asked to be in a wedding. Being in a wedding is usually aggravating and expensive.

write her a thank you note for being in her wedding? that sounds lame...she chose you to be in her wedding, because she thinks highly of you...not because she's expecting a thank you note from you...pick up the phone, and ask her what she's got planned so far for the wedding...you are a part of this now...

Are you going to be in the wedding or are you writing a "Thanks, but no thanks"?
If you're going to go, you might just want to say in your own words what you feel about being invited and how nice it was for her/him to invite you. All you're saying is "Thanks for asking me to be in the wedding." in a thank you note. Do you want to say more? Then, say it!! Just talk to them in the letter like you would on the phone. The nice thing about a "thank you note" is that you can keep it with all the other stuff to remember your wedding day (if you're one of those people who does that). I like keeping little souveniers of things like that.
Anyways....Just write from your heart.

Writing a thank you note is always good. When you write it, just tell her in your own words that your thankful for her thoughtfulness in inviting you to be a part of something that is so special in her life. That that means alot to you.

something like... Dear ...., I wanted to say thank you for including me in your special day. I know that it will be incredible and I can't wait to be a part of it. Thanks again, Love.....
Remember that being in someones wedding is a costly venture. Dress, hair, gifts, etc. add up quickly. If this is cost prohibitve for you, tell her early and tell her why. she should understand, especially if she is paying for her own wedding. Have fun with the planning.
