I just want to know why some people feel it is necessary to make up things about other people and their religions. Is it because they feel they aren't doing enough for their beliefs unless they diminish those of other people, or because they are so concerned about people believing something other than what they believe, or because they honestly don't understand the other religions or otherwise misinterpret them? Or is it a combination of all of the above? I honestly don't know. I would really appreciate everyone's honest opinion on this. Please don't believe everything you read or hear. It usually isn't true.

That is how i feel also,people can't they mind their own beliefs and quit talking crap about others,even specially when they don't even know what they are about.that just shows how Satan uses people to destroy the word of God.if people believe everything their here or see without checking into it before they judge then they will always mistake judgment.

Depending on where you grow up traditions taught may lead to false notions or ideas of other religions. Ideologies taught as neutrally as possible in upper level class studies may still have a slant from the book publishers view to the author's view. Since one cannot become a part of every religion, then it is essential that we count on certain historical renderings to provide us the knowledge we need. A current generation could easily believe that George Lucas wrote the Star Wars movies as a means to create a religious teaching; however, Lucas himself denies such a notion; however, media coverage was bent on showing its parallels and how it could be teaching such. When the author disputes such claims, then maybe we would do well to agree with the author and not the media-hysteria.

It doesn't really matter why they do it. The fact that gossips enjoy either spreading lies or give out information that can be extremely damaging is good enough for me not to want to be one of them! AND I don't want to HEAR it either. As long as gossips have an audience they will keep doing it.
