i am going there for vacation. anything that's fun and not boring would be appreciated.

I reside 20 miles north of Toronto.
There are many varied attractions in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) as well as the City itself. It's difficult to break it all down into what may interest you so I'll list the major ones.
In the city itself: Ontario Place (amusement park with IMAX), The Canadian National Exhibition (last 2 weeks of August, oldest fair in North America)),The CN tower, Rogers Centre tour (formerly sky dome), City double decker bus,walking and water tours, China Town, Queen's Quay and Harbour Front for free concerts drinks and other entertainment and the jump off point for many Harbour tours on Tall Ships, The Docks night club and entertainment centre (bring your golf clubs), The Toronto Islands and amusement park, The Eaton's Centre for shopping and seeing the sights of Yonge Street, Yorkville ( Grenwhich Village north) for dining ,out door cafes,shopping,entertainment, celebrity spotting and hob nobbing with the rich, The Esplanade area for dining at ethnic spots, Pubs ( Scotland Yard), piano and jazz basement clubs, The Theatre district for award winning productions such as at The Royal Alex Or the Princess or even Massey Hall for music productions, The Toronto Science Centre (science museum with IMAX), The Bata Shoe Museum, The Hockey Hall of Fame, The many dance clubs such as El Macombo, The Big Bop,The Guvernment,The Horseshoe Tavern and The Rivoli. Gretzky's (owned by #99) for wings,beer and sports. Fort York (military installation from 1800's), The Royal Ontario Museum, The Art Gallery of Ontario.
Outside the City Centre: Canada's Wonderland (amusement park, 20 minute drive), Niagara Falls (1.5 hour drive from TO, stop in Niagara On The Lake, on your way, scenic town,shopping and wine tasting at the vineyards), Black Creek Pioneer Villiage ( Pioneer museum, 20 minute drive), Salmon fishing charters in Port Credit on Lake Ontario ( 25 minute drive), Salmon and trout fishing and scenery at The Forks of The Credit, Belfountain (50 minute drive)The Toronto Zoo ( 25 minute drive), Blue Mountain Scenic Caves Collingwood (1.75 hour drive but worth it all the way up), Wasaga Beach (safe swimming, jet ski rentals,amusement area with the HMS Nancy Museum on Georgian Bay), The Canadian WarPlane Heritage Museum in Hamilton ( has one of only 2 still flying WW2 Lancaster Bombers and it's possible to book a flight, 1 hour drive to Hamilton Mountain Airport) HMCS Haida, famous WW2 destroyer also in Hamilton, Stoney Creek Battlefield Museum and grounds and many Wineries with tours and tasting). Hot Air Baloon tours( 30 minutes north of TO), Casino Rama in Orillia (1 hour drive), Slots and horse racing at Woodbine (15 minute drive) many horse back trail rides scattered around the city,
These are just the main attractions in the area, off the top of my head. It may give you an idea of what you'd like to focus on. For any of the fishing excursions, you will need to obtain a visitors licence that a charter outfit will get for you, or simply stop in any Canadian Tire Store (locations everywhere and open Sundays) and pick one up at their customer service desk. They're cheap and mandatory. An excellent source on what's going on currently entertainment wise is a magazine called Eye Weekly, they have an online source at www.eye.net.

Toronto is a world class city that is trying to boost its reputation so that it can belong in the same category as New York, London, Sydney, Paris, etc.

1. CN Tower is an astonishing place to see. Its over 500 meters high, and you can even eat dinner at the 360 restaurant, that over looks the city as well as the lake.

2. Go to the Toronto Zoo, its in the North East side of the city, and its massive. I recently went there with my gf, who is from Ottawa, and we spent an entire 10 hour day there, and we couldnt see all the animals.

3. To shop, go down the Bloor street, off of Young, or Queen St. Eaton centre is also a brilliant mall, and from 9-5 there is a massive 3km underground mall.

4. Go to the Hockey Hall of Fame

5. After the Hockey Hall of Fame eat at Richtree marche, best food in the city.

6. Go to Paramount Canada's Wonderland (its like Toronto's Disney land)

7. Go the the Ontario Science Centre

8. Go to Vaughn Mills Mall... huge.

9. Nighlife downtown is amazing.

there is so much to do in toronto, hopefully you are staying for longer than a week :P

If you are a music fan you're in luck.

Downtown there are severl obscure music shops with band you've never heard of before but will still love. There are a lot of clubs... The best for hip hop is the Guvurnment in the north part of the city.

The Kensington Market is good for a quiet afternoon. Really neat vintage wear for really really cheap!

Several radio broadcasts have live music guests. My favourite is 102.1 The Edge. If you're a new rock fan, check their site out and see if there will be any preformances during the time you're in TO.

There are concerts for relatively good prices at the Amplitheatre and the Kool Haus.

You'll have a blast, and make sure you get all the touristy things like the CN tower in there.

Toronto is fantastic! A very cosmopolitan city! And very clean, and with really good public transit. I really enjoyed the CN Tower, the Eaton Centre Mall, the Zoo, the Science Center, The Spaghetti Factory restaurant, pro baseball games, the Shakespeare Festival, and miniature golf. "Just" walking around town is fun. There are loads of good places to eat, and lots of nice hotels. There are a couple of theme parks/water parks not far from the city.

Well you have to be a bit more specific. We could tell you the average temperatures in Toronto depending on what time of the year you are planning to come. I can say that lately the coldest months are from December to March/April and the warmest months are April to September. Toronto Canada is located just north of Buffalo NY. The american border is about 75 miles away from Toronto and we are very close to Niagara Falls.

Casa Loma is fun... the Science Center is neat... and the Eaton Center is pretty cool... ride the subway... and don't forget to visit the tallest building that a tourist can ride up into... The CN tower!

Nemo is correct - it is the most boring City in Canada. Take a trip to Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls. Don't be in a hurry to get back to Toronto.

U could climb the Cn tower. Or shop. Also there's lots of different theaters you could see live shows or watch the latest movies.

I went there on my senior trip in high school, it was an AMAZING place. I don't think anyone needs to tell you what is there, there's fun stuff all around you. Clubs, stores, malls, athletic events, restaurants,people, I hated to leave to come home.
