Brunettes, definitely. There is a mystery about brunettes, that I have always liked, even as a kid. Brunettes seem to be more intelligent, more down-to-earth, and have seem to have it more together than blondes. Also a lot of blondes are not natural blondes. I know of a lot of women who have colored their hair to be blonde, and I don't know if some of the dye seeped into their brain, but they seem to lose a few points off the old IQ! I'm dead serious.

If, by "guys", you are referring to American men (or at least, men exposed
primarily to American media), I would say they prefer blondes - mostly
because our media tells them to.

However, there are lots of things that have more effect: The largest
trigger is hip-to-waist ratio. There has also been research showing
that the closer a person's face is to the "Average" face, the more appealing
it is - but we all look for signs of good health such as glossy hair, clean
and healthy skin, and white teeth.

There is also a tendency for people to find other people similar to their
own immediate background more appealing. That is, facial features
for negroids may be more attractive to other negriods, mongoloids to
mongoloids, caucasoids to caucasoids. However, with the advent of
mass media, people are exposed a lot to White-as-snow Hollywood.

This is important only in that men who are not exposed to mass media
will tend to prefer their own culture's features, which for the majority
of the planet is not blond.

There is also research that shows that men prefer women who are
blond because it is easier to detect health problems with blonds then
it is with darker hair. For instance, one can perceive immediately and
at a distance if a blond's hair is infested with parasites, where that may
be harder otherwise.

Since, evolutionarily, it makes sense to mate with the healthiest, most
fertile woman available, it makes sense to prefer those that you can
readily detect their health.

Or so the theory goes. Happy note, eh?
