That is tough because taste is very subjective. It is possible to make your own cheddar cheese using a wooden board to slice and the cheese as it is firming up. This process is actually called 'cheddaring' and is where it gets its name. It is also during this point in the process that yellow cheddar get their color, since cheddar is actually white in color. Adding annatto extract gives it the bold yellow color that is actually more popular these days.
Enough dancing around the subject. Wisconsin and Vermont have the best cheddars in the US, but Ireland has some superb cheddars, and even though it a subjective question, I am betting you are speaking of Cheddar from Ireland, specifically south of Dublin.

If it wasn't made in Cheddar then it technically wasn't Cheddar cheese, only a Cheddar-style cheese. Therefore, if your question isn't nonsense (and one can only assume that is the case), then by logical argument the answer has to be that it was from Cheddar.

I'm guessing you opened your fridge, and there laying on the bottom shelf was some cheddar cheese you bought at Albertsons Grocery a few weeks ago. You ate it, and thought to yourself "man, thats some good cheese...I wonder if anyone will guess that it is 1.99 at albertsons....let me go ask!"
