You can never forget the past. But try to put the past behind you, and look forward to the present and future. And when sometime down the road, you will look back and say "Wow, I learned something from that.". There will be people you meet that has been through a lot, maybe even more. You just have to be thankful that you are here now. You may think you can't get through it or you don't think you can give to life anymore. You have to dig deep down and find the energy to give. Once you do, you will start feeling better about the future.

The brain , the wonders it holds and controls . Remind yourself often that today is never going to be here once gone , and tomorrow is where you need to work on. Someday , as I and anyone reading this / all a live will die .So , it's not a matter of how but when . You need to clear your brain ,let go of yesterday , before you waste all that is in life away . Yes , that simple ! I've been Thu more than a few horrible chapters and I know the next chapter would be different , with new people , new situations , new daily .Can't sleep start doing something worth having a good dream about ! I faced what I must , do what I have control over and except today is really what I am left with for tomorrow . Get a hobby , photography was best for me .

The pain in your chest may be anxiety attacks, which are unset from too much worrying. What do you like to do? Start doing more of that, and move on to a new future that isn't like your past, rewrite your life from beginning to end to forget your past. If it's a sexual thing, personal, financial whatever your past hurt is if it's hurting you to where you're having deadly thoughts about yourself seek help! Good luck

Been there! You don't and the problem is you tend to remember the bad times a lot more than the good. Probably because they left a much more indelible mark. The pain in the chest could be from stress although you should talk to your doctor about it.

it would be nice if we could forget the past of hurts or regrets, but unfortunately that's just a part of life we all have to learn to live with. The only thing we can do is to learn from those mistakes or whatever has happened in the past and move on to the future and try to better ourselves so the same thing doesn't happen. I would actually recommend seeing a counselor..maybe he/she could help you deal with whatever has went on in your past so you can move on with your life.

Good luck to you..I hope all works out! :o)

a temporary fix would be just getting wasted by drinking. a permanent one would probably require you to look for the happy and positive things in your life and not looking back. Setting goals of what you want to be and who you want to be with. Spend the time thinking of the positive things in life instead of concentrating on the past that you should forget.

Pray and ask God to help you and guide you through this, have patience and try to think positive. I too have been through some hard times, but I always try to look at the positive side of things, and ask God for lots of guidance and help.

Try talking to a counselor or psychologist/psychiatrist. They'll help you figure out what may be wrong. It sounds like you might have some type of anxiety disorder.
