in this category, to other questions , I've noticed that many Christians (who follow a trinity based system) seem to have the three branches a bit mixed up. I've seen responses saying "God died for us" and " Jesus allows you to live"...
If memory serves me correctly, that's transposed. However, (and here's the question folks) is it just that the three branches are so interchangeable, and perhaps I am confused? Or does each branch of the trinity represent and serve a seperate function?
Now, don't go all abusive on me-or try to save me. I'm asking this politely, from genuine interest!
In conclusion, what are the three branches, what purpose does each serve, and how interchangeable are they?

You might have something there, Alex. I've read most of the Old Testament, but brush over the New as it has always seemed kind of boring.

I think you are right, one God, and three functions. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. They are all a part of the God head, but serve in different ways.

God is the father, Jesus the Son and Savior, the Holy Spirit is the comforter, three in one. Let me see if I can make this make sense.
God is to be worshipped, the creator of all, all knowing, all powerful, never changing, the God of all. No other before Him.
Jesus was God in the flesh, a seperate part of him if you will. Jesus dies for the sins of the world, became flesh to finish this task. He was with God, part of God from the start. He is the Savior.
The Holy Spirit is the comforter. The go between between us and God and Jesus. He is what dwells in us as our guide, our comforter, when we accept Christs salvation plan.
Each serves a specific purpose, a seperate function. But, put them all together, you have a whole God. The example that fits this best, is a little silly, but it works. An egg is whole, three parts that together make an egg, each with a purpose. The shell, the yolk, the white. Each can stand on its own, have its own function, and together are one. Shell (God), Yolk (Jesus) white (Holy Spirit).
They are not interchangeable, with the single exception that they are one. So, to say they are one, and recognize each part has its own function, makes the mystery of the Holy Trinity.(or an scrambled egg, :), sorry had to go in for the humor)

God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That is known as the Holy Trinity. They are all one, and interchangable. The Father is known as God, and the Son is known as Jesus. As for the Holy Spirit, that respresents both, I think. But, I may be wrong.

branches? God, Son, and Holy Ghost/Spirit I believe
It's not really confusion. There are different interpretations/beliefs in different denominations of Christianity. Read a bit of the New Testament and that might help clarify.

God the Father. God the Son (Jesus). and God the Holy Spirt. The Father's main purpose was that of creator. Jesus' main purpose is that of Savior. And in MY that is MY opinion - I don't know the textbook answer - the Holy Spirt, once invited into your life acts as a supernatural conscience, causing you to want to follow/obey God.

Let's see...the Father designs...the Son manifests it...the Holy Spirit keeps it going to its completion. They each take part fully, and they each have their part to play. No, they're not interchangable. Jesus came from God the Father, the Holy Spirit came from God the Father...they were assigned their unique missions...by the Designer.
