What reason would He have for hiding his self from us? This would make worshipping a lot easier, if we knew what we were worshipping was real.

thats an easy one, no offense to any relegious people here, but it is a proven medical condition that a person can be lost and makes they're own faith up, it can spread and more and more people will believe in this, in about 500 years, I guarantee that christianity will be regarded as myth. In short, there are no such ******* things as gods

Seriously, God grants man the most divine of gifts: free will. It is up to us to chart our course in this world and choose to believe or not. He is not a recluse, but is present in our lives if we so choose. The latter part of your question is adressed in the story of "Doubting Thomas" when Jesus then says "Blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe."

For some reason, He decided that's the way it has to be. I don't know why, but His ways are not our ways. The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisest man on earth. I wouldn't spend as much time questioning Him and more time seeking Him.

To allow for freewill. If we all knew He was there-- we'd all just go to sleep. It would bassically rob you of choice. This way, we can live out our lives and make decisions as autonomous beings.
