Well, I recently bought one for my girlfriend. Mine was 1/4 Ct. diamond 14 Kt. white gold band, 3 stone, princess cut. Very happy overall. The total cost, tax, resizing, everything was 240.

Granted, I got mine at a jewelry store. Every six months, it is abled to be taken back in for a free cleaning, and there is the old lifetime guarantee.

Yes, you can go to wal-mart or stores of that nature, but I feel the overall quality of the item, not to mention the services provided after it is bought, (ie the cleaning, and guarantee) I don't know if those come with fine jewelry at places such as wal-mart.

That's all I have.

why bother with a promise ring? I'm not sure what's up with that. If you promise to be with her for the rest of your life, buy the engagement ring. Why waste time. If you love her...go all the way. Go to any jewelry store...check out flyers and get one on sale.

You can try jewelry stores, you just have to find a place where there is a cheap on, Fred Meyers have some for about one hundred dollars.

you can go to any jewelry store, but you do have to shop around because some have better prices than others. Mine was only 99 dollars for all diamonds it is a third carat. You can try pawn shops but normally they are way overpriced. I hope this helps.
