I have 4 cats and I need to part with one. She is very sweet to people, but she isn't getting along with my other cats. I think this may be because she is unaltered. I am a single mom with little ones and I simply can't afford to get her fixed and I need to find her a home before she gets pregnant. If you are able to take in a pet please consider her. Email me and I can send you a picture. Thanks

You can advertise your cat to prospective adopters on www.petfinder.com. Click on the animals for adoption link.

Screen potential adopters carefully, as many people looking for free animals are reselling them as pit bull fighting bait or to research labs for experimentation. You can't tell by looking at them - some use children as fronts to make it appear as though you are placing the animal with a loving family. References are the only way to verify people are who they say they are - start with a driver's license and a veterinarian's reference.

I can't take him but know some shelters in the state. I'd have to know roughly where you are to make any good suggestions. Most ask for or require a donation if you give up a pet - remember that they have expenses too, and you're essentially asking them to take over responsibility for your pet.

Connecticut Humane Society does *not* do free spay and neuter, but they have an attached vet clinic (Fox Memorial) which is a little cheaper than most local vets. There's also the TEAM van, Central CT Cat Project, and probably other programs I don't know about that do lower cost spay & neuter.

I believe the humane society in CT will neuter for free. Give it a try.

not on a long shot. This is not a place to post animals for sale / trade/ or free. Check with your local Humane society. Your county should have one // unless you live in Antartica.
