In this case, polytheistic usually, but not necessarily, refers to following a particular pantheon of gods; at the least, it refers to the belief in many "supernatural" beings.
Duotheism, I think is fairly recent, and it refers to the belief in a single God and a single Goddess, meaning that the forces of the universe are separated into male and female aspects.
Monotheistic would be defined as the idea that "all gods are but facets of the same diamond." Similar to this is the idea that there is a universal life energy that all beings tap into. Perhaps, this would be more accurately defined as animism, or animatism, so please feel free to use different words, if it is more appropriate for you.
Don't worry about agreeing with me, because I have an appreciation for all of them. Polytheism takes into account the multiplicity of the universe, duotheism takes into account the idea that life is created by two beings instead of one, and animism is more all-encompassing.

I just realized after I posted this that I made a mistake when I wrote this post. When I wrote animism or animatism, the word I was looking for was monism. Animism would probably be more accurately put under the category of "Other," since it only indicates the immanence of spirits, instead ot the number of "supernatural" spirits in the universe.

Truth4u, thank you for what you posted out of concern for me. I know that you are trying to help me, and that is a nice thing to do... even if that help is a bit misguided, since I believe I already have a relationship with the father god.
To purpleaura1, the Christian that posted to show their contempt of my path: You have been instructed to follow a path of love, instead of hate; you have strayed from this path, not me. I am willing to forgive you, because I believe love is a more powerful remedy than hate.
googlywotsit is correct in that Jesus performed acts of magic, so it is not magic that is evil. It is only the hate that lurks in your heart that keeps you from the spirit world that is evil. I urge you to cast it away, so that you can be reunited with your father god, who loves all of his children, not just the ones who pick up a Bible and a Cross.

I am a polytheist. I believe in multiple, individual deities. Although I feel that they may share the same "spiritual bloodline" they are as individual as my great grandmother and my aunt would have been. I feel that mankind also shares this "spiritual bloodline" although we do not have the experience and wisdom to be a deity. I also feel that all living things have a type of soul and share this bloodline in various degrees (animism?).

I must be 'polytheistic' then as I'm an Occultist and have experienced a few different Entities along the winding path that is my life. I can't say I believe in an omnipresent being though, as I believe we each have the power to be our own Gods!
As for the modern day 'Wiccans', dear oh, dear! They can be almost as bad as the xtians! Typically just kids overrun by Ego, out for a quick fix and a feeling of the power they will never really get to know.
:)
Hey, truth4u, sorry to rock your boat bud, but did you realise jesus practiced Magic? Some of the most ancient Art known to real Witches today? Didn't think you did...

I don't know if I fit in with 'etc', but I am a believer in a doctrine known as 'acintya-bhedabheda-tattva.' (we go variously by the names, "Hare Krishnas", "Gaudiya Vaishnvas", and other names) That is, identity with difference. In this sense, there is one God, or one Absolute truth, but while the universe is derivative, it is ontically derivative, based on eternal determinative aesthetic principles, beginning with personhood. Since those differentiating principles are also eternal, one cannot, strictly speaking, call the view monistic.
The material world is temporally derivative, and so living entities such as you and I bear 'identity with difference' in relation to the absolute truth.
That absolute truth has a masculine, feminine, and neuter state of being. The neuter state accounts for the present state of scientism, and atheism, the masculine and feminine account for duotheism, as well as patristic or matristic monotheism. But these, in my view, are all incomplete perspectives on the absolute truth, which ranges over all phenomena and principles.
The main error, as I see it, in many of these doctrines is an attempt to resolve a divine paradox, into some mundane category. That is why the 'acintya' (trans., inconcievable) prefixes to the bhedabheda (trans., identity-with-difference).
To give an example: Sharing. Sharing means to have in common (identity), but to have between (difference); so both are implied, and reduction to one or the other present a misunderstanding of the question at hand. The universe may bear a qualitative unity, while bearing a quantitative multiplicity without any contradiction. It is just important not to mix up the character of the categories.

I used to consider myself a Pagan, more specifically a witch, as I have spent the past 15 years or so on an ongoing spiritual journey. I considered myself a duotheist. I believed that everything in life must have balance, especially the Higher Power, so I followed the concept of the God and Goddess.
I have since come to believe that the creator is all things in one, and that male and female are strictly in the realm of man.
I have love for all religions, and believe that all are simply different paths to the same end.

A sage package works lovely good, if you'll stand the odor for days later on. That's why I reserve sage for severe circumstances, or for out of doors use. A besom (broomstick) is relatively well, as is utilizing sea salt. Some humans use holy water, however I do not. A broomstick leaves at the back of no odor and no mess, so I feel you've got made a well option. I feel the entire above are simply as strong, however field to private style. Isn't that what it is all approximately besides?

I guess my answer is yes.
I believe that there is one energy source. But that it has feminine and masculine features, Goddess/God. Of the feminine and masculine, there are also different aspects, different gods, that symbolize the different 'personalities' that can be associated with each.
I believe that the one energy source is found in all natural beings, animate or inanimate.

I believe in the existence of multiple gods, including but not limited to the two usually thought of in the dualist view, but personally worship only one. Is that good or do you need more clarification?
