What could cause shortness of breath even when not active (lying in bed or sitting down).

u should take other lil symptoms in consideration that u might have, u might not know but they can all be due to something that could be more serious. I have had the same thing and recently found out that I'm anemic, but like others have said, heart problems etc.. could be it, u should talk to ur doc. he'll be able to give u a better answer.

Anxiety, allergies, or asthma. also if you smoke then you're likely to get short of breath at just about any time

Pluricy...only noticeable in an x-ray. it just means your lungs are swelled and hitting your rib cage. It could go away in a couple days.

But, it could be something else.if it hurts...call someone to take you to the Dr.s or the ER
