LOL I love this question!! It's because white people don't really have a whole lot of imagination, lmao... and before people start thinking I'm trippin', my mother is white. Half my family is white. Get a sense of humor people.

Usually because the texture or flavor is similar to chicken. Frog legs and rattle snake meat are very similar in taste to chicken. I haven't eaten anything else that tastes like chicken, though.

What is up with that...
I have tried many foods. Chicken tastes like chicken. Turkey tastes like turkey. Frog legs taste like frog legs.
What unusual food(s) are you referring to?

Lol, I don't know! That's true. My Dad used to live in South Carolina and he used to eat frog legs. He said they tasted like chicken.
You'll never catch me eating frogs!

it's not just white people that say that but guess it's just a way to cover up that something tastes gross or to get someone to taste it.

It's a stupid answer for a stupid question.
It's like when kids ask, "Are we there yet?"
Someone asks what escargot tastes like... well, it tastes like escargot! What else are people supposed to answer to that? Go try it for yourself.
It's not only white people, either.
