Well, my family was not very Christian. I would say that it was my own choice. In my youth I was not very close to God, the environment was rather against it. Later, after many difficulties and problems, I returned to the Church. Now, I feel God close to me

My mom was Christian, my dad was Mormon, so they choose to not raise my brother and I in either faith. When I was 14, I started acting out, lying, sneaking around, and such. I was mean, and hateful and often acted out in violent ways, with no guilt or remorse. My parents thought it was because of my friends, so they pulled me out of public school and put me in a private Christian school. Not to learn about God really, but rather to get me away from my friends.

But, I did learn about God. I learned about his salvation plan, Jesus' love for me, and I became saved at 15. When that happened, my life changed, and I didn't even have to try. I was suddenly aware of my actions, and felt the desire to change them, and I did effortlessly. I became a diffrent person, and not because I was told to, my heart, my life just changed, all in that moment.

When I was 20, I began searching out my faith, asking questions about what I had been taught those 5 years, I abandoned most of the religious appeal of the Baptist religion I was taught, and instead searched for answers only in the Bible, not in religion.

Now, at 28, I am finding more in the Bible than in religion, and have choosen not to accept religion, but rather accept the Bible, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and only that, not mans ideals force fed thhrough religious movements.

So, I have been a Christian for 12 years, and found the way that works for me, wich I believe to be true and accurate.

I grew up in the church. My entire family are Christians. I believe in God and accept him as my savior. Having said this...I seldom attend church now. I am somewhat put off by many of the "so called" religious leaders as well as many church goers. I feel that I cannot let myself be led by pastors who are full of sin and corruption and use their position in a way which I believe Christ did not intend. I find that many church goers place themselves in a superior position and go around judging and criticizing others. I think they should use their time trying to make themselves a better person instead.
I, by no stretch of the imagination consider myself perfect. I exercise my religious beliefs by trying, each day, to live my life in such a way as to give respect to my fellow man. If I can constantly improve myself and be a servant to society, as opposed to a taker, I feel that I am serving God and this is what Jesus want me to do.

i though it was not true up until i was 19 when i asked Jesus into my life and He answered me and i was born again and was given the water of life the Holy Spirit! God really does answer and do all mental things today even still! that happened about 2 years ago. ask Jesus into your life and be born again by the power of the Gospel (an actual real life event in your real life) if you do this in a prayer sincerely God will answer you! you have to truely seek then God will answer!

I was raised in a Methodist church, but since I've been at college I began to studied other faith systems, Catholicism, and other religions.

I made my choice to continue in my own faith system after I better understood the doctrines and messages.

You are usually brainwashed by your parents as children.....too young to make your own decisions.....then when you get older and wiser, you can decide for yourself what's best....lots of reformed Christians lately.
