Great Question and I don't follow Mary Daly at all,,, and no offense to any answers, and I see that some did not take the religious stance,,,whew.

A proper Noun.

Besides the fact that GOD may have chosen His/Her name and perhaps the correct grammactical use of it, by us, I've often heard GOD uttered, whispered, even shouted, as other than a noun.

Obviously, as an ACTION word, there is belief in GOD being active.

Rev. Steven

I often add a preposition to the word,,, as in "OH GOD"

The great thing about god as a verb is that you no longer have to anthropomorphize it. Because once you do that and make it a being, then you have to decide if it is male or female, black or white, straight or gay, and it just goes to pot from there.

God is the act of loving. God is the forward motion of life, so it is all knowing because it is the act of everything. God is both the good things in life and the bad. Understanding god as a verb means no longer having to ask, "why god?". The answer is always that god is in the living of life, and not someone somewhere else pulling the strings of our behavior.

God as a verb makes everything in the bible make sense. You no longer have to believe in the facts of the bible, and instead, can focus of the truth in the bible. Understanding god as a verb made it possible for me to return to a church, and that is, literally, an act of god.

Is God a thing, or an action?

Both are only human, physical attributes we give to what we see around us and classify. But really, all is the same. God is everything. God is energy. Everything around us is energy. The same energy.
