Without the truth of history and historical evidence, Christianty is worthless. Christianity is a faith based in historical truth. The Bible must be true. The Bible has more historical relibility than any other religious document. Other religions can't put their document of faith under the intense scrutinity as the Bible has gone through and remain trustworthy historically. The evidence of history is not the essential issue for them, only the idea of the religion.

It's because Christianty is the basis of our country. So it gets a lot of discrimination from critics. Other religions such as Budisim and Muslim aren't the basis for our country and are not as widely spread. Plus, all religions believe in a God. It's not the religion that is scrutinized but Jesus. Everyone wants to know if he is real or not. Christianity is based of Jesus. Therefore it needs historical proof to prevent the lose of many believers.

Having once been a Christian naysayer, I too thought that it was gibberish for the gullable and alike. Problem is, as soon as I tried to disprove much, I kept finding curiosities that I further researched.

I think the problem is not that Christianity is unhistorical, because Jesus was indeed a historical figure, that I can argue academically with anyone.

The problem lies in the challenge that a real Jesus would pose, especially for liberal culture. Ideas of a God who is not just love, but justice, is offensive to those who have not lived as if Jesus was God. A terrible gamble, especially considering the overwhelming evidence in favor of the historical life of Jesus. More so, the continued tradition his own disciples suffered and died defending.

I would welcome a good intellectual debate (of a non-offensive nature) with anyone bold enough to email me with their concerns.

You are hallucinating.

The bible is NOT historically true. It is a collection of myths, superstition, folk lore, morality tales, a whole bunch of pseudo-history, and a tiny wee bit of historical fact.

People who tell you that it is historically true are quite simply lying to you.

Christianity is, above all, a huge and wildly successful business. The key elements of their marketing plan are lies and deception. It is crucially important to them that their constituents not be exposed to scientific facts and REAL historical truths. Why? Becuse Christianity cannot withstand the glaring light of rationality and critical thought.

When I see religionists crowing over the fact that there are over two billion Christians, I interpret that as two billion gullible dupes.

several of the Buddhist texts have been verified, in fact Buddhism is viewed by most in the academic community as one of the religions with the most verifiable historical evidence, It is pretty much proven fact that Buddha walked the earth and preached during most of his lifetime, also most of the events of his life have also been historically verified through direct evidence, in contrast It is still argued in many circles both religious and secular, whether Jesus the man ever really existed at all, most distressing to the scientific mind is the lack of any physical evidence of Jesus whatsoever.

Are you sure you've been reading the right book? The bible has little historical evidence to back it up and certainly very little science as well.
