This is not uncommon towards the end of a pregnancy. Her body is supporting not only herself, but several puppies as well. Think of how many more vessels that blood has to go through. Keep an eye on it, but I wouldn't worry about it a whole lot.

People - please quit answering questions when you obviously do not know the answer, it is not helpful to the questioner! It is not shock, protein levels, or low iron. She is anemic because her blood is also supporting the babies. It is NOT UNCOMMON at the end of a pregnancy!

A bitches gums will turn white for a couple of days at around day 20, this is when the puppies in utero are developing placentas and the sudden reroute of blood means extremities, such as gums, are temporarily drained until the body cash readjust itself.
It's perfectly normal, but if you are worried please see your vet.

One would assume you had done enough research prior to mating your ***** but we all start somewhere and better to ask then guys and get it wrong!

Lack of oxygen possibly. A dog that is receivng the proper amount of oxygen will have pink gums.

White gums mean Anemia, or dehydration. You need to keep her indoors since she is pregnant. I am not even going to go on about why she shouldn't have been bred.. but she NEEDS to be indoors. Its summer..and she probably got overheated, which is bad for the babies.

she may of been a bit dehydrated but you should get her checked as it can indicate a problem with blood level but as it has gone pink again i doubt it.

It meant she didn't have enough iron. Same thing happens to humans.

maybe she got sick a little or not sufficient protein since she's nursing. Ask your vet.
