Also, how does it work for you? I usually take Ambien, works great, but I decided to try Lunesta one day and couldn't even fall asleep because I felt like I was being poisoned by that bad taste in my mouth (i.e., anxiety)! It was like sucking on a roll of pennies or something. How can anyone stand it?

Yes I take it... I went from taking restoril to lunesta and that taste in your mouth is a zinc flavor that you get rid of by drinking plain room temperature water,Don't try to drink anything else it will ruin the effect of the water. I do think it works but the next day you will be a bit groggy until you get used to it.If Ambien works well for you then it's bet to stick to it.

Eszopiclone (Lunesta) gives off a Metallic taste of up to 24 hours after consumption. Avoid this by taking it with Milk.

I don't know why that does that. I remember the warning that it might have a bad after taste on the tv ad. Maybe they hope you will be asleep before that awful taste hits.
I only use tylenol pm or the generic version when I can't sleep.

That is ONE side effect of taking Lunesta! Report it to your doctor IMMEDIATELY!!!

My mother has the same problem with many of her medications.

Just one of those nasty side effects. Some get it, some don't!
