If she is trying to prove dominance, how do I let her know in doggy terms I'm in charge? and don't tell me to wrap my arms around her ankle, she'll bite my nose-Owwie!

I would say playing. Dominance behavior is usually more obvious especially with females. They will become territorial and use growling in order to control a person or object.

At 4 months, if she's the only dog in the house, she's only playing. She already knows that you're the Alpha because you're where her meals come from, so no problem there. Give her a few more months of being a puppy, and then start to discipline her gently but regularly, so she doesn't think she's being rejected, and she'll calm down.

female dogs mount to show dominance but it can be part of play but you need to sort it out before she gets the idea it is OK. when she does it push her away and ignore her. if after a few times she still comes back put her in a submissive posture (on her back) make eye contact and growl. let her go once she has calmed down.
if this don't work remove her from the room and leave her by herself until she calms down.
she will learn that you are the boss and that sort of play is not acceptable.
