I remember hundreds of past lives, and even future ones. I also remember my deaths, and I can assure you, only the body dies. I also commune with friends and relatives who have passed on and live in the more refined frequencies of Spirit, but this is not separate from the physical world. The world of the soul is part of the physical world and part of the same electromagnetic spectrum that we measure with science. The technology for communicating with Spirit is being developed as we speak, and will eventually open a channel for ordinary people to commune with those who have passed on. The beliefs of the world will change very quickly once this happens.

It is neither the annihilation of the personality or the body, but rather the separation of the two. The body continues to exist, although without the soul it will slowly decompose and disintegrate, while the soul, the essence of the personality, continues to exist, despite losing effective contact with the physical world.

The personality of a person is in the soul. The soul can not be destroyed by death. But the body can be.

God.
All of us have emmortal souls... Each of us chooses whether we spend eterninty with God. Or seperated from Him...What happens to the mortal body when it quits functioning is only the mortal end... not the true death... Those of the Christian Faith will not know Death.
The personality survives into eternity... The Soul is what we are, not the mortal body.

i believe that the spirit lives on with the personality of the person for a time until they no longer need to hang on to that personality .. then they progress on their spiritual path

You can only ask someone who has died and come back... If you believe in reincarnation it is the body only.
