I have 2 boy kittens (not yet neutered), who play, sleep, eat and explore together. They also beat the living cr*p out of eachother now & then, which gets rather disturbing when the little one screams... will they do this when they're older too?

This is normal behavior. I also have 2 Siamese male kittens, and one is more of a screamer than the other one. This is playing for them. Plus it will 'toughen' the scream right out of the one. It's great to watch them play!
Make sure that you neuter them, you can have it done as young as 4 months now days. It will keep them from wanting to 'spray' their territory when they get older, and keep them from wandering.
Hope that this helps

I would say that being that young they are simply play-fighting; establishing who is "alpha" and teaching each other survival techniques. I have a 7 year old (neutered) male cat (had since he was 6 weeks old) and last Fall we adopted an 11 year old (spayed) female. These 2 cats hiss and growl and carry on like no tomorrow! So, I can't tell you that the fighting will stop - you'll just have to roll with the punches! Good Luck!

Yes, most defiantly, see when you start with a cat, the old cat try to defend his territory and show the new kitten that he is the ruler in the house. So he will fight for it until the young cat gets the message. Mean while the new cat is still a kitten he wont understand, but when he start growing, he will get the message. They will start getting alone well, just give it time.

P.S. Make sure you don't put their plates of food and water together, have each one in different corners, that could be a mess when it comes to eating.
emjoy your cats.

They probably won't do that when they're older but for now you'll unfortuneilty have to put up with them. Kittens like to play, wrestle with each other and do all that kind of stuff while their young. It's just the normal thing cats do. But of course stop them if they get to the point where they can get hurt because they can obviously get too violent and hurt each other,

You need to put the new kitten into a carrier. The kitten is new to your cat. Your older cat is the Elder and needs to be on the outside of the box. This way any aggression by either is stopped with the help of the cage. You be the best judge on when they don't have to communicate thru the cage & perhaps tolerate each other. The kitten needs to stay in the cage to help it understand the pecking order. Of course, do not keep the kitten in it 24/7. It needs to "play"

They're likely to have territory dust-ups throughout their lives. It's natural for cats. When you get them neutered, some of the fighting will stop.

Cats also have to practice this kind of behavior so they can survive in the while. Most likely their claws are not even out, it's just a learning game.

If they do get out of hand - or your nerves can't take it any more, separate them just like you would kids. EVERYBODY GO TO YOUR ROOM!

My daughter had a similar problem. The first few weeks in a two cat household were crazy, each cat trying to intimidate the other. Then the older cat chased and bit the new cat in the middle of the night. She got infected and couldn't walk and we wound up in an emergency on New Years Day.

Eventually they calmed down, but up until the younger cat died, they still ate each other's food and hissed at one another at times.

Male kittens---boys will be boys--so I have heard it said. They are learning and finding out which one will be king of the mountain. Do keep them separated at food time if they fight at that time. Grown cats fight when they go a tom catting. That can be a deadly experience; so have them neutered.

I have cats and I will do things to distract them to stop them from fighting and if need be separate them. If all else fells give one away. It is better that one be given away than have them fight forever and a day.

Kitten like to "play" fight. They are just learning how to take care of themselves and using each other for practice. My 9 week old kittens will sleep with each other one minute, and play fight about who gets the toy mouse, lol At this age their teeth cant do much damage to each other, dont worry :)

Yes they will stop as they get older. Right now they are:
1. learning fighting skills
2. establishing who is boss.

You can ease it a bit by giving them both more attention. Also, get some human child-safe toys that don't have pieces that can be torn or bit off and swallowed and choked on. Give them to the more aggressive one to beat up on when he starts picking on his brother. It works ! I got soft stuffed (watch what kind of stuffing) toys at garage sales and flea markets and Goodwill for next to nothing.

Sometimes you can startle them into quitting the "torture" by making squealing cat crying sounds yourself.
