You can never make someone feel something that they don't. Don't waste your time. The fact that you say you need a man makes me think perhaps you have low self-esteem. Work on caring and loving yourself first. It's better to be alone than to be with someone who doesn't love you back. What's the point of being with someone like that?

Let him not love you. Give him permission to not love you.
If you're trying to force him to love you or something, he'll most likely run away or feel hostile to you because once you force someone to do something, you reduce their freedom. People, even animals, cannot stand having there freedom taken away, even slightly. They forceably rebel against it.
That which you NEED in life controls you. If you cannot accept life without a man or without love, you will have a difficult time finding and holding onto a man or love, hence your question. Try to imagine life without a man and without the love a man. Just imagine it and try to accept it as being okay. This doesn't mean you have to go without it, but if you cannot accept it, you are controlled by it.
Underneath a NEED is a fear. (We're not talking about the need for food or air, that's a little different.) To NEED something is to be afraid of not having it. Are you afraid of living without something? If so, what is it? If you can find what it is, imagine your life without it. Try to accept as best you can living without it. If you can exist without it, your need and fear will not control you.
You might even find you can live without it. You might actually want to for a while. Good luck.

I'm in this situation right now. I love him and he just "adores" me. Anyways, he's really understanding and just tries to make me happy and tries to help me enjoy it most of the time, but sometimes it's hard because I feel like his heart will always belong to his ex. Loving someone who isn't in love with you can hurt sometimes, really bad but don't give up. Focus on being with that person no matter what especially if you really do love him.

well first of all i wouldn't be with him there are plenty of men out there who are looking to be with a good woman who loves them .then all ways respect yourself and a man will respect you.
