Yea its embarrasing. If its coming to the point where our soldiers have the time to go off and rape and murder civilians, do we really need to be there? Seriously, send them home, our presence isn't stopping the violence over there, if anything its making it worse. We can still help out the Iraqis without all the military presence over there.

No, this is not liberation. It is what happens in the madness of war. Even the UN soldiers have done just that and worse around the world. Our military, like all the world's militaries have psychopathic individuals within their ranks. I think we do a better job than most governments punishing these animals.
You are, however, overstretching when you cite this as an argument for withdrawing the troops prematurely. What these few troops have done is nothing compared to what muslims around the world do to women. (killing them for infedility, real or imagined, cutting off the clits of young women, excluding them from office and the electorate process, banning women from sporting events as they have recently done in Iran etc...etc..)
I think it was John Lennon who said that "woman is the n***er of the world", and no where on God's green earth is that more true than in the muslim world. Theo Van Gogh, the famous painter's grand nephew was stabbed 15 times before he had his throat slahed on an Amsterdam street by muslims for daring to make a documentary on the subject.
If you were at all interested in the welfare of arab women, you would pull your head out of your *ss and support the President, our troops and the war on terror!
Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! Peaceniks have got to go!!!

Perhaps it's the movies and TV perpetually depicting American soldiers and sailors always heroically but humbly saving the world that prompts the the public to be so horrified when GIs commit some crime. The fact is that there are bad people right here in the US, and some of them wind up in the service. They perpitrate some despicable acts, for which they are usually caught, tried and punished. But, their individual acts are not an indictment of the military as a whole nor of the administration that directs it. If you disagree with the mission in Iraqa, that is your right. If you dislike the administration, that's also your right. You might remember, though, that your right to access this website and voice your opinions, while it may not be wholey unique, it is not common, either, and that it's protected by the armed services.

So your contention is that because less than .1% of the troops did a bad thing over there that it includes them all? Enlighten yourself and find out what % of your neighbors have raped someone or worse. If there is less than 1 in 5000 I would be surprised. There are bad people everywhere Enlightenment. Are you doing ANYTHING other than posting on here your feelings? Have you written your Congressman, Senators? Anybody who really makes the decisions? State who your going to vote for IF you vote. Your nothing more than a verbal zealot if you don't do anything else. This is not the way to get us out of there. Enlighten yourself and please stop including all for a few. Its obviouse you never joined up to even have a right to accuse all.

As i sit back and read your answers i wonder how all of you are so educated on this subject. Unless you have been there you dont really have a right to ***** right. I am currently in Iraq serving my second tour with the 101st airborne div. and i am not whining like a little school girl. You people make me sick cause you have no idea what sacrifice is. You will never know what true freedom is until you have fought for it

Hmmm. How does one fall victim to COMMITTING rape and murder? That's a new one. sadly, virtually every occupying army in history has done similar (or worse) things. That's one reason why occupying other countries is a bad idea. Another problem is endemic racism; it's much easier to assault and brutalize someone who doesn't loo like your mother or sister or wife, etc. Military thinking dehumanizes the 'enemy' (and don't think for a second they're not considered the enemy) Our military isn't set upfor this kind of work.

The Military is a cross section of America. Unfortunately, not all Americans are good Americans. Sometimes bad people do bad things. In the time it took you to type out your silly chant, hundreds of women in America were raped. Too bad you don't care about them as much as you do Iraqi women. Maybe we could stop it here too.

It is.
In fact here we are demonstrating how it looks when you follow the 'rule of law.'
A few troops are alleged to have committed a crime and we are performing a forthright investigation and - if warranted - they will be tried in court.
IMO - this is an excellent example to give to the Iraqis of what it looks like when you 'do things right.'

I really feel badly for these troops who have gone across the ocean to help, and due to the stress of what they are facing and their youth and inexperience, they have fallen victim to heinous and dispicable crimes. This is definitely not liberation, but there has not been one soilder who has fought any war who has not sucumbed to the evil they are fighting in some way or another. I feel badly for his family and for himself and also for the victims and family members. Our soilders need more training, some time off and out of that desert. Who knows what they have to deal with. I am not saying what they do is right, but it is obvious they need help, training and some time off in order to regroup.

Unless every single US soldier participated in some surreal gang-rape of this young iraqi woman, I think your criticism is severely misplaced.
