firstly there is nothing magical about the tarot at all ... they are pieces of card with pretty pictures on
what the cards are is a focus for your intuition and nothing more .. so using books etc wont work at all
you use the cards to see symbols and anything that you can read from whats in the picture ..
i started doing tarot when i was about 11 also but it wasn't until more recently i knew what i was doing ( and I'm 37 now ) i used to think there was something mystical and powerful about them , but now i understand it is us who do the work and not the card

You are encountering what us Olde Phartes call "Oracular Vagueness". This happens when a young or new seeker over-uses an oracle, or comes to depend upon it for every teensy little thing. The oracle reacts by becoming increasingly vague and bizarre, like a kindly old uncle who has lost his glasses, or needs a nap. It can't outright tell you to quit pestering it, so it does the next best thing: totally confuzzles you.
There is only one cure: step away from the cards and give them, and any other oracular activity you might be doing, a break. The cards -are- telling you something: figure it out for yourself.
It is often said that Providence always sends a 'sign' when it's asked for, but they often go unread.
Tarot is a very rich vein of metaphysical insight concentrated into 78 cards. What you might want to do is to step back from doing readings, and instead, study the cards and their suits individually. I undertook a project where I assigned a Tarot card to Star Trek episodes. What episode would the Three of Swords embody? Who is the Queen of Coins? What episode represents "The Chariot"?
If you're not a Trekkie, try it with something else you're interested in. Mapping the Tarot onto a real life situation will deepen your understanding of it, as well as your practice of magic.

Tarot cards help to interpret the energies that surround a given question or situation. The cards recieve the energy from the reader, the cards themselves are not majical, they are a picture representation that allows us to see the story as it unfolds, and gives up decriptions of people, times, place, emotion. For me I have read cards in what I can a storytelling manner. I just lay the cards side-by-side, everyreading has a different number, theres no set spread, its based upon the story the cards have to tell and how much information the cards can read. If you are having problems reading cards by reading a book about them and tryign ti inrepret them, try my method. While lookin at them look at the cards and gain the feeling and see what you see, i bet the story will make more sense than you thought.
Tarot cards are a tool/divination, it is uesd to help interpret answers for questions. They dont have their own power, you palce that there, but they do have their own oersonaility. So if one deck doenst seem to be working , mabye its the wrong deck for you. You should always use the what you feel to pick cards, ans jsut the same use the same ability to read them. Youll find it will come easier, adn jsut practice ull get better as you go along.

I've been reading tarot for about 20 years now and they are just a tool. The best way to describe it is that I read people, not the cards. The cards are just a tool to show me where to look.
If you aren't having any luck with the deck of cards you have now, try a different deck. Not all decks work for all people. The spiral deck I have won't work for my boyfriend and his dragon deck doesn't work for me.

i believe u're either born with or without the talent. nobody can teach u how to read the tarot. what i would do is do a reading on a friend then ask if any of this is going on in their lives. one other thing, just say the first thing that comes to ur mind cause that's ur intuitive spirit talking good luck and hope this helps

It's a way to read your subconscious. You actually influence the outcome of the cards.
There's other methods to do that if tarot cards do not work for you. Looking into crystals and such.

i also often use tarot, mostly when i'm very confused.
you can see it like this..
Tarot is a tool.. a medium.. of reflection from our mind.. it's like a mirror..
it isn't fixed or absolute.. it's dynamic and about tendecies / probabilities..
so when you do some reading.. it's reflecting your mind.. so you yourself should validate wether it's true or not.. if it isn't.. then it isn't..
as you change yourmind/ will, the cards will also changes..
Tarot is a medium.. when you have practice a higher self-understanding.. self-control.. you can see it without any tool like tarot nomore..
=)

PRACTICING OF SPIRITISM OR ANY KIND OF MAGIC IS AGAINST THE BIBILE COMMAND. READ LEVITICUS 19:31"DO NOT TURN YOURSELVES TO THE SPIRIT MEDIUMS, AND DO NOT CONSULT PROFESSIONAL FORETELLERS OF EVENTS, SO AS TO BECOME UNCLEAN BY THEM. I AM JEHOVAH YOUR GOD."
