I've started baking my own bread. Being new to it I still follow the recipes religiously. Loaves come out great, but rolls are always a bit underdone and doughy. Is it better to keep the same temperature and bake for longer, or turn the oven up for the same length of time?

Yes, I think it would be best to keep the same temp and just keep them in there a little longer. If you turn up the temp. they still may not cook fully on the inside. The outside will begin to burn before they get a chance to fully bake on the inside. So just try to wait a little longer before taking the rolls out.

When I used to bake bread professionally we would always bake the rolls first and then put the bread in. the rolls were always fantastic: eating them fresh out the oven with a bit of good cheddar was breakfast...
Bread was often baked in what is called a falling oven which means the temperature is beginning to go down. so we would pop the rolls in the oven when it was at its hottest and then turn down the heat for the bread. But our ovens also had controls to control the top heat, the bottom heat and the side heat. If they're looking a little burnt when they're taken out of the oven, cover them with some brown paper about half way through cooking.

Keep same temp and bake longer. No higher than 350 or you will burn the outside and the inside will still be doughy. Also you may need to make the rolls smaller. Try putting them lower in the stove. Get a good clay baking sheet. It's nearly impossible to burn bread baked on clay.

Don't adjust the oven temp just bake longer.
If they are too dark on the outside before done in the middle try cutting back on some of the sugar in the recipe.

Cook them longer, but don't turn up the temp. It will cause them to burn on the bottom. By a silicone baking sheet. They are supposed to make things brown evenly all over.

In my oven its gas 6 20 mins top shelf; but they're all different. I'd prefer to keep them in longer.
