My great-grandfather died before my grandfather was born and the latter's mother would not reveal his nationality... if anyone can trace Vincent Batt's family tree I would be ecstatic because I don't want to get into these internet genealogy websites myself

I'm a teenager so I don't have a credit card or the resources to do it myself and my mother doesn't care and neither does my father.

I found one,
1910 United States Federal Census > Ohio > Defiance > Defiance Ward 3 > District 7
(Name, relation ot head, age in 1910, BP, Father's BP, Mother's BP)
Batt, Ferdinand A., head, 28, OH, OH, OH
----, Florence C., wife, 26, OH, OH, OH
(3 kids)
----, Vincent C., son, 1 3/12ths, OH, OH, OH
but:
1) Without some sort of birth year you can't tell if this is him or not
2) "Northeast Ohio" is a big place.
If someone refuses to state a nationality, one could speculate
a) He was a mulatto passing for white. Sadly, if you could do that in 1910, your chance for a decent education and a well-paying job were 10 times better.
b) He was origianlly "Battoskivitch" or something else equally long and distinctive, and his descendants didn't want people to know he was Jewish / Catholic / Polish / Czech Russian.
c) She didn't know.
Write to me via my profile if you get a birth year and it is before 1930. The censuses after 1930 are still locked up.

The earliest entry with the exact spelling Bratt that I spotted in the LDS (Mormon's) Ancestral file was from England, so I think it's a fair bet that that is where the name originated.
299. John BATT - Ancestral File
Gender: M Birth/Christening: Abt 1500 Salisbury, , Wiltshire, England
There also seems to be more entries for Bratt in England than anywhere else.
Take a look here:

Hello. I am a webmaster to my families genealogy site. If you would like me to search for you I will, but I will need a few more names, and possibly a general area of where he lived/died. I did a general search on Vincent Batt on the site I use and I came back with over 2000 hits.

If your family can't fill in anything try the Church of Latter Day Saint libraries. They have extensive libraries full of genealogy info. And no you don't have to b a Mormon. I have done alot of family tree work, fortunately my father had a lot of info.

You Know you could trace the family history/nationality...yourself!!!! Do some research on your own when you have time to do it........it's not hard, it is actually really simple. You have a computer and internet service...use it!! That is what it is there for!!
Why would you ask someone on here to do it for you ....like they would??? C'mon
