Anyone know of another country in the free world that uses ID cards and how does it work for them?

Sweden does ... a passport is not considered sufficient proof of identity ...you have to have an ID card ... and it works wonders!

UK has national ID cards. Works for their purposes. But their government is substantially more centralized than in the US and they have a small population and land area to implement such a program.

Yes Germany uses id cards their problem is the Turks and no it does not work every body started to come over and the german citizen pays out the a== for you know who. we have plenty of people on welfare make them take these jobs .so i say KEEP OUT

singapore uses id card, it is compulsory at 12 years old onwards

I'm pretty sure Canada does, because of their national health plan.
