Take him to the hopital. The worse they are going to do is send him home. Take him now and make sure he is ok.

Over the normal temp (which this is) is bad at any age. !02.2 is serious--especially for an infant. Get him to a doctor right away or if you are poor and must go to a clinic--and since this is Sunday, try to lower the fever by applying cool wet washclothes on to his head or around his body and maybe even a cool bath. There are also fever reducing over-the-counter drugs you can buy at the Walmart or pharmacy. Ask your mother for advice or an older friend who has had children. This IS SERIOUS. An infant could have a stroke from too high a fever. Please hurry. Keep monitoring his temperature.

well first of all Im concerned over the weight of your child...is the weight and age correct or is he 7 weeks old?...I would of course call your pediatrician and see what they have to say...but I will tell you this..high fevers in children are different than high fevers in adults...the height of the temperature itself isnt really a cause of concern for the child its the way that the child handles the fever..if the child doenst have convulsions and is other wise tolerating the fever well the fever could be 105. Some children can go into fever convulsions at a fever of 102. My children all ran extremely high fevers yet they were relatively OK and handled them well. (Highest was 106.1-and that was at the doctors office) the problem is that if this is his first fever you dont know how it is going to effect him and the underlying cause of the fever could be cause of much concern. Call the pediatrician there should be someone on call even though this is a Sunday....

You need to give him some infant Tylenol. Take him and put him in a luke warm bath and his fever should go down. I have two kids and that has always worked for me. He will be ok. You also should call his doctor.

You need to call your pediatrician immediately! That low of weight, that's like a newborn having that high of a fever. Was your baby premature? Please call your pediatrician asap, also dress him lightly and give him tylenol. Maybe even a tepid bath. You need to keep that temp from getting any higher.

You need to take him to the hospital immediately !!! No joke, they can die from a high temp or have brain damage. Please go right away to the ER. Children are extra sensitive to high temps. Good luck.
