There is a place called Paris, France. There is a Church called the Catholic Church. There was a painter named Da Vinci. That's about it.

Most of the book is based on (in my opinion) far-fetched theories, but there is no theological reason why Christ could not have been married. I read somewhere (can't remember where) that the Messiah was supposed to be married, but then again, not everyone accepted him as such, right? Maybe his bachelorhood was part of that reason? But really, the book is full of far fetched theories, especially when dealing with the Holy Grail, as that is never mentioned in the Bible and only pops up when dealing with Arthurian legends, and the Grail quest is based on Celtic cauldron quests nothing more. So I think the DaVinci Code is an interesting story, but totally fiction. Besides, the Grail's in the Castle Aaargh.

Obviously the book is fiction. The author, and the publisher never claimed otherwise. I was raised in the Catholic Church, and while I know the specifics of that particular story are fiction, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if there is a lot of manipulation going on amongst the hierarchy of the church toward the general members of the church.
Until about 50 years ago, the priests had their back to the congregation and the enitre mass was conducted in Latin..... Really makes a person feel as though they are "not in on the joke" so to speak. I haven't been to a Catholic masses is at least ten years, and yet I knwothe words of most of their prayers by heart. I can say them from rote memory, but do they mean anything, do I feel any conviction if I say them? Not a bit. I prefer going to a Christian church where you feel uplifted and challenged, not hypnotized by the same boring words voer and over again.......yawn

it changed my views. some of it makes since, the bible is based on faith, Like I be live in the spirit of Christmas but not Santa, now I believe in the holy spirit but not god, I mean where did he come from, why even give us the choice, why even let evil be here, this could be just like heaven.
I mean we know the Hindus have a god, Jews have a god, christens have a god, even Muslims have a god, budds have a god, so if there is only one god somebody is wrong, and since christened is the newest, why is it right?
the davinci code makes since a little. What if Jesus was just a man? and all he wanted is for all man kind to be treated equal.
If a man was saying he was Jesus what would we do, I would think he was crazy today, like David careish in Waco remember that? I do not know what to believe but I do know if their is a god there would not be war, murder, hunger, for innocent people, and we have that. If there is a god he is not doing a good job right now. why are little kids being abused, lock up in closets, beaten, a god would not allow that to happen to his children. Faith has nothing to do with it,
the world is hundred of millions of years old, why did he wait until 2000 yeas ago to show up? I think he was just a man now. Just a man with a good idea.

Nope. It is fiction, just like anything else. I dont belive The Stand rally happened, by Stephen king, Or The Resort by Bentley Little, or even anything Danielle Steele wrote. Why would the DaVinci code be any diffrent?

I have read it as well and no I don't believe it. it was a great fiction but the books and documents that he claims to be true at the beginning of the book and make people think the same as him are all fiction books.

No way is it anti-Christian. i'm a Christian, i have study the e book, and in my opinion i don't believe of Dan Brown is a competent adequate author to fireplace up any 'anti-some thing' sentiments. It merely hit too on the point of the nerve for most Christians, each and every of the "historic" assistance that probably places centuries of religion into question. yet enable's undergo in ideas that it really is fiction, written at an really base element via some knowledgeable historians whose data are decorated by using an really 0.5-cost author.

Because during the time of Jesus women did not have a prominent place, or any place in the church, It is an interesting hypothesis.
Whether Jesus and Mary Mag were married, I don't know, However Jesus did choose to allow Mary to be there when he died, see him first when he rose and it is my belief that the Catholic church may have deleted pertinent original books from the bible for their own agenda. IE the book of Mary. I am a catholic but still suspect this.
Won't it be cool to meet a blood relative of Jesus...hey, there may be life on other planets, and hey there may be living descendants of Jesus.
I believe it is possible.!!!
